Does this really even matter? I can't believe any serious online gamer has a 360 with no hard drive.

What do they mean by developing titles for? The HD DVD player is only for playing HD DVD movies. It won't be used for games. And why is this thing even posted here? Does it matter?

"they already entered the gaming industry... now the internet."

Microsoft has been involved in the Internet for years though. This isn't to get them into the business. They think it will make them bigger than Google. But it won't. Does Yahoo own a lot of patents Google pays royalties for or something? I see no way for this deal to help Microsoft.

Google shouldn't worry about this. It won't get me to switch from Google to Microsoft. What exactly does Microsoft expect to get out of this deal anyway? Is Yahoo even worth anything? What do they give Microsoft over Google that Microsoft doesn't already have? It looks like a big waste of money to me. It could even help Google since Microsoft will spend a lot to get Yahoo. A lot more than the company is worth.

That's not really being fair to the people working at Microsoft. I'm sure they do their best. When Bill says do something everyone stops everything and does it. The rest of the time they're just trying to keep up with all the 360s coming in for repair. It can't be easy to repair them when they have 3,500 repairs come in a day. That's a huge problem.

Doesn't everyone know this? Of course he isn't. Bill Gates handles Vista returns. I believe Robbie Bach is now in charge of 360 repairs. I could be wrong though. They might have changed that last week.

But seriously, I knew that would be an issue after that story came out. You help one person and word gets out and soon everyone wants your help.

"BOTTOM LINE!! Why would anyone be readily anxious to dump another $600 in a pretty kool game system that happens to be the under achiever of the year? The PS3 has very little gaming future over the behemoth that is the XBOX 360. Sad but True"

Irishcaliber is an obvious Xbot. Don't bother posting garbage like that. You know you didn't do what you said. The PS3 has a lot of huge games coming this year. And people who own a PS3 won't have to buy the new model. That seem...

"But the current model and design is not having many/any over heating issues."

Tempist - Was this meant for me? I know the PS3 isn't having cooling problems. It's because it was well designed. But over time parts change. Chips get reduced from several to one. The same thing done in six chips suddenly can be done in one chip. When you have enough changes like that you can redesign the case. A big case can be slimmed down since there won't be a need for the extra space ...

6603d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I disagree, it's not too soon for a redesign. The reason to do it would be Sony found a way to make the PS3 run cooler. The current shape most likely is for cooling purposes. The PS3 has a lot of power in it and needs a way to keep cool inside. The case was designed for that purpose. As technology improves though they can find ways to make things smaller and create less heat. Why not change the case? A smaller and sleeker case would mean a cheaper case too so one more way to cut costs.

Why would Gold members have to wait? If Microsoft knows about the mistake shouldn't they fix it right then? Does it take hours to make a simple change?

This is one big problem with Xbox Live. They have people who ay and people who don't. Why not make it all free and just put stuff up for everyone? Why create classes online? Not that the yearly fee is that much but why not make it a part of the Xbox and not charge extra?

I never heard of chipping with the DS but just check out elspa.com. They have a page that covers chipping for all the systems. The DS has a lot more options than the other systems. I'm surprised to see a report saying 90% of games in the US for the DS are pirated but it looks possible. Check out a device called the R4DS and you'll see what ELSPA is talking about.

By the way, if this report is a lie a lot of sites are reporting it. A Google search of ELSPA DS 90% will bring up a...

I never even heard of that chip before. Not that I care about the DS. I don't see many games for it I even want. Maybe that's why people do it. The games aren't worth paying for but for free go ahead. I guess this could be why DS sales are so high.

One important point he didn't make is downloads will take up bandwidth which I wouldn't be surprised to see be more limited in the future. Will your broadband company allow you to keep downloading Gigs of data over their network? I keep reading about some of them trying to limit how much people can download. This will just add to that. If you're a gamer and download a lot of movies then be ready to pay a lot mre in the future.

I sure hope PS3 gamers aren't being screwed on this one. We don't need Achievements like the 360 but you can still include the exact same stuff in the game. Even if it doesn't award you some worthless points online it can add to replay value of the game. Burnout Paradise proves that. I hope the PS3 version at least gives PS3 gamers what Burnout did. I could care less about points but I like the idea of trying to do certain things in the game.

"I don't see the meaning of this competition too!!"

Can you say slow day at the Gamepro office? That's about what it comes down to. There isn't a good reason to do the comparison other than nothing else worth writing about. But that will change soon with GDC coming up.

I'm with you. I'm buying both. Sony has some great games coming out over the next couple years.

I really like the DMC4 demo too. I play it a lot. But I might do what I did with Assassin's Creed. I didn't buy that game right away and after Christmas Target had it on sale for $38.99 so I grabbed it. I have so many new PS3 games right now that I haven't even started. Maybe I'll hold off on this game and wait for a deal.

Bwahaha. This has to be the nuttiest story posted so far this year. Right, MGS4 to the Wii. In their dreams. The 360 can't even handle the game, how could the Wii? Everyone needs to face facts, if you want to play MGS4 you must own a PS3. That's all. Kojima refuses to hurt his masterpiece by dumbing it down.

Wow, we have someone here in complete denial. How does it feel to have an orphaned HD player? Pretty sad, huh? I still remember what it was like when Beta died. I didn't throw my VCR away but I sure didn't have much movie rental selection so after a while I had to buy a VHS player. You'll soon have to deal with it too unless you just want to stick with DVD which isn't dead yet.

6606d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's amazing how many people are foolish with their money. I guess those people buying HD DVD players right now don't keep up on the news. Anyone who knows anything about this war knows it's over. Why spend anything on what will soon be orphaned hardware? Just stupid.
