Nice article. Good luck, HebrewHammer. The games industry is weird, man. I snuck in to E3 2011 on a friend's media pass, and made the decision then and there that come hell or high water, I'd find a job at a video game company. By the time E3 2012 rolled around, I had. And I returned to the big show, triumphant, an insider. Within three months of that, I had been laid off. I had to watch E3 2013 on the internet with everybody else like a schlub. I will be back, though. Keep t...
Man, I am looking forward to online more than I am the single player. And as someone who never plays online, that's something.
I played the Killzone Mercenary beta, and it wasn't really for me. I'm not a big fan of shooters though. The graphics were incredible, and it is technically very impressive. Just not my cup of tea. I do hope it helps them sell a lot of Vitas.
PS Plus has expanded my Vita library fast, that's for sure. Excited for remote play, I can keep playing AC4, even if I have to take a dump.
Budget's tapped with the PS4 on pre-order for Nov 15. Their window to sell me on Wii U has passed.
I never thought this type of game would be my cup of tea, until Xcom Enemy Unknown came along. I might be tempted to try this out.
Nice to see voice acting is starting to get the attention of Hollywood. There are a number of great actors (Mark Hamill, Troy Baker, Tara Strong, Nolan North to name a few) working in this field, and it's nice to see them get recognized. I just hope game studios continue to hire these talented guys and ladies, instead of shoving them off to get "big name actors" for their games. Oh, and +1 for the Last of Us love. Definitely one of the best, when it comes to storytelling.
Picking up Knack and Watch Dogs at launch. That should hold me over till Second Son is out. Plus, I have a disgraceful PS3 backlog that needs to be addressed.
If memory serves, I thought Sony had already mentioned that the Gaikai features would be behind the PS+ paywall. That is totally reasonable, PS+ is an incredible value with the current features already. Mapping L2/R2/L3/R3 to touch controls could be awkward, but I can imagine this working quite well with most games. I play PS All Stars on the Vita just as much as I do on the PS3. I don't particularly favor one control scheme over another.
Nice interview! I don't normally play a lot of asynchronous mobile games, but I will give this one a try.
Pay extra special attention to the Vita selection.
Touch my Katamari for $3.75? Yesss!!
Fruit Ninja for $8?!? LOL Hell no.
So much of that game made NO sense. But I remember being impressed by the pixelized photo graphics. And a virtual representation of Jesse the Body. "He's giving him the old Dutch Oven, McMahon!!!"
Guest starring Mayor Mike Haggar!
Big ups for giving Micro League Wrestling its proper due :)
I don't think it will hinder development of smaller indie titles, which are really the only good games the Vita has going for it right now. Games like Guacamelee and Hotline Miami are a good fit for Vita. We may see less big franchises releasing scaled back Vita versions of games (Uncharted GA comes to mind), but I don't see that as a bad thing. Let me remote play my PS4 content on Vita, and I'm good.
Gaikai, or the PS cloud, or whatever you want to call it, has the potential to be the biggest breakthrough for home consoles this generation. They already have a strong subscription offering with PS+, what if they added a huge library of PS 1,2,3 streaming games. No more problems running out of HDD space, or downloading new Plus games every Tuesday. I'm down.
Honky Tonk Man or GTFO
The remains of Kevin Butler have been found.
...ohboy.
pinball ownership is awesome, but as I mentioned in the article, the pinball arcade is a good alternative, and it's available on all platforms. I buy the PA tables on ps3, cause they give you the tables on the vita also. Playing Monster Bash is a great time waster when you are on the go or on the can!
