Be careful, fanboys hate facts
Its an outdated fighting game. Nostalgia can only go so far if the meat of the game is only so-so. Many better fighters came out last gen, but all of them were pretty meh... IMO. Maybe I've just grown out of them, but I found it extremely boring to play this last generation of fighting games.
Your name says it all!
Series X is a great system now, PS5 will be a better system in the long run but just isn't there right now. Theres a lot of kinks that Sony needs to work out, but I have no doubt they will. Things like the storage issues, converting cross gen titles, etc. It essentially comes down to games and we all know that PS5 will have the better exclusives. Dont get me wrong, I love my Xbox and MS does have some great stuff, despite what others say. But c'mon, Sony 1st party sets the bar and its...
Except for the fact that investors constantly call for such at their investor calls, where Nintendo simply reiterates their support for their hardware division. I NEVER said that Nintendo considered such, just that investors speak of this frequently. And in the Wii U era, the calls for such were getting much louder as Nintendo profits plummeted. Obviously the Switch changed their fortunes. But believe it or not, there were times where Iwata was considered bonkers for continuing to support har...
Are you in the investor meetings?! Prior to the success of the Switch there was the real possibility of Nintendo IP going to other platforms in some capacity. IF there is ever another Wii U like debacle in the console space, count on Nintendo IP going cross-platform as they look to grow their IP in other areas, like we are seeing now. The upcoming Mario movie and the theme park stuff is all a direct result of the poor showing of Wii U, a system that I actually adored. Nintendo is in business ...
10000 percent this! Too much good stuff across the 3 major console makers to not play all 3. Things like Stadia and all that crap doesnt matter, there is only room for 3.
Hey, this almost happened! The 1st Playstation was a Super Nintendo add-on disk drive. Nintendo canned the agreement and Sony took the PS brand and ran with it, buying up exclusives from companies who were sick of Nintendo's business practices/ lack of willingness to innovate beyond the cartridge format. Thats why we had Final Fantasy 7 on PS and not SNES. This one move essentially made PlayStation a household name and Sony has never looked back (except the PS3 gen, but we dont talk about...
Yes this happened, but Nintendo is one more system flop away from putting their IP on other platforms. I am in some of the shareholder meetings and, prior to the Switch success, there were some pretty loud calls for Nintendo to utilize their IP across other platforms. If another Wii U debacle were to ever plague Nintendo again, you can bet we would see Ninty IP on other platforms.
Nintendo is too stubborn to let this happen, but who knows what the future holds! I would be happy to at least see some kind of partnership where Nintendo allowed some of their 1st party stuff come to Xbox. I mean, MS puts some of their stuff on other consoles, so its not unheard of. But it would be nice to see something like Breath of the Wild in 4k/60fps with ray tracing. Nintendo does a great job squeezing power out of the switch, but that tech is just not up to par with this new gen of ha...
I dont know about those other 2, I cant see them selling to MS, but there is some precedent of MS and SE working together. Remember when Rise of the Tomb Raider was an Xbox One timed exclusive? Also in the 360 days there were some timed exclusives: Star Ocean, Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, etc. Square Enix does have a decent presence on Xbox, just not so much with a lot of their JRPG style titles. Hitman, Tomb Raider, Just Cause, FF 15, etc. plus all the recent game pass stuff SE has be...
Octopath seems like an odd inclusion here, and from out of NOWHERE! Is this a sign?! Can you imagine the repercussions of MS buying Square Enix? It would give them the Japan presence they've not been able to grasp and they would hold some IPs that can finally compete with Sony 1st party (Tomb Raider vs Uncharted, etc) not saying they would but nothing is off the table after the Bethesda deal. What a crazy time to be a gamer!
Wow! Octopath is a nice surprise! Xbox is killin' it with GPU!
All these remasters and enhanced ports have me wishing I hadnt played through everything in previous generations. I get it, a whole new audience gets to experience them, and those who love them get to re-live the glory in a vision closer to what the devs intended. Ive heard it all, and I agree to an extent... But is anyone else feeling a bit burned out by all of these?! It feels a bit like Hollywood where nothing is new anymore, its just remakes or live action versions of previously animated ...
Cool, graphics and small file size... too bad the game is kinda meh. It just never grabbed me the way some of Remedy's other stuff did. Its good they figured out a way to make the files so much smaller! Im just ready for these true next-gen games instead of slightly enhanced last gen games. Both XS and PS5 are guilty on this front. Sure there are some gems at launch, but I am oh so ready for the new stuff. True generation defining experiences are so close I can smell them. Even though its...
Looks good, but I would happily pay $400 for a Switch Pro with 1TB SSD/4k! Nintendo should totally have a premium model available before considering a Switch 2. This would allow ports of more recent games. It would print Nintendo money so easy. I expect one to be announced around May/June, buy Nintendo stock ASAP!
HZD was my game of the generation! New, original IP should always be celebrated in this cookie-cutter era. Not only that, but it was a fantastic game with an amazing story and sublime gameplay! The Frozen Wilds DLC was also the single best piece of post-launch content last gen IMO. I am waiting on an LE PS5 Horizon Bundle do dive into the PS5 ecosystem.
Game is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I actually am enjoying it quite a bit better than Zelda Breath of the Wild, something I never imagined! Wasnt this supposed to just be a Ubisoft cut and paste, half-assed Zelda rip-off?! Thats what I initially thought and heard on social media/game sties. But not having to worry about weapons breaking or having to constantly cook your own food are huge quality-of-life upgrades that I wish could be implemented into Zelda after playing this. Also, this game has so...
I got super lucky and was able to get in a ps5 pre-order at Best Buy for store pickup. I just got a call from them to inform me they are doing pickups by appointment to limit crowds, etc. This whole time I've planned to keep the ps5. But I have run into some financial uncertainty because of the virus surge in my state. My company is considering shutting down for a couple of months. I really don't want to sell the ps5 but I may have to. I am not a scalper by any means as I have never ...
Its the only way to go! Although I sold my launch day ps5 as there just isnt anything to play on it right now, Sony ALWAYS has crazy dope LE console bundles so iIl get one again when Horizon launches. Series X seems more essential right now as there are a lot more games getting X enhancements and I missed quite a few Xbox games last gen. I played the hell outta my PS4 last gen and Series X just seems like a better overall system right now. IMO of course, I know Ill get disagrees on here but w...
