At least Titanfall is mixing up the FPS genre, like Evolve will do when it is released later this year. Need more fresh IP's to do well rather than the same generic franchises.

I think the amount Microsoft would need to pay to keep the franchise exclusive would be pretty astronomical. I think Titanfall will sell millions on Xbox One and the sequel would be even bigger on PS4 due to its larger install base.

What a generalisation! I have a PS4 and think Titanfall is cool. Looking forward to Titanfall 2 on PS4.

I think Sony will do whatever it takes to get Titanfall 2 on PS4 as it has the potential to be an enduring franchise up there with COD and Battlefield, in my opinion.

I think Titanfall 2 will be a timed exclusive on Xbox One. The PS4 install base will be too big to ignore.

That would be South Africa.

I'm disappointed that Sony didn't announce this earlier. And to me, 'back to the drawing board' means a big revamp of the game, not just polishing. Also, Planetside 2 what is up with that? Two much awaited games that have slid back to who knows when. I think Sony need to communicate better.

Think Titanfall 2 will be a timed exclusive for Xbox One. EA are not going to forego millions of sales from PS4.

Don't think Titanfall 2 would be released until 2016 at the earliest so PS4 install base should be well over 20 million, probably closer to 40 million.

That's why I moved from Xbox 360 to PS4. Xbox 360 was originally a hardcore gaming machine.

Agree, momentum is back with Playstation and I think they will dominate this generation. Can't see a substantial price cut for Xbox One this year, Microsoft can't afford it.

The game is using 4XMSAA, an advanced form of anti-aliasing which is graphic intensive. This is an artistic choice which likely precludes a higher resolution and frame rate.

Xbox One is doing reasonably well. However, comparing sales with PS4 is relevant as third party devs want to develop for a console with a big install base and if PS4 sales momentum continues then they may have a much bigger install base than Xbox One in a year or two which may attract more third party games to PS4 than Xbox One.

The PS4 is much more powerful which allows better graphic effects etc. However, it will be a few years or so before devs take full advantage of the capabilities of the console. PS4 is also designed to use a technique called compute which allows some CPU tasks to be done by the GPU. The likes of Naughty Dog will get some amazing graphics out of PS4.

I think PS4 will go close to selling 7 million consoles by the end of March. About 2 million higher than Sony's own forecast.

Back in the days of PS2, wasn't Japan one of the biggest gaming markets for consoles? Nowadays, the U.S. And Europe are massively bigger. Why should Sony prioritise a small market with mostly unique game preferences.

Will be interesting to see the PS4 sales once supply exceeds demand. PS4 sales figures are mind blowing considering the supply constraints thus far.

If true, this is staggeringly stupid. More bad publicity.

From website link below. PS3 has sold well, just not in comparison to PS2.

"In direct comparison to the PS2, the PS3 is substantially behind its predecessor's shipment volume. The PS2 exceeded 103 million shipped units in just under six years of production and has topped more than 150 million as Sony is currently phasing out the production".
