That's a "yes-no" question that has no real answer.
On one hand, I think it's hypocritical that they criticise sexualization (example: The Samus controversy) in video games yet, women are seemingly oblivious to the over-sexualization in media and women magazine.

You might be mistaken. A lot of those "females" users are actually males that often do this thing they call "genderbending." There's always a genderbend weekend with miiverse users.
