gamepad is as portable as switch is. you need a bag for both.
never seen a pocket that can fit that thing in, it's still huge for a handheld.
one thing i dislike with 3ds is that it has sharp edges, making it uncomfortable to hold. Gamepad is more comfortable.
it's definitely a good game, but i was disappointed because i really expected much more than 2min levels. actually it is New Mario Bros U x Luigi U in 3D with a new outfit and new bonus modes (Toad Treasure Tracker).
It is not a full scale Mario game like Sunshine or Galaxy were, it's far from that.

nothing to do with broke.. the console as it is now is just an upgraded wiiu, like it or not.
wiiu had the advantage that you have 2 screens at once.
If you have games like Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3, Wii Party U or Rayman Legends you will know what i mean.
it will not even sell half of it, especially with the terrible launch line up and overpriced hardware, software and accessories and concept in general.
Switch, like it or not, is a wii u update.. kind of a "wiiu Pro" so to speak. It does NOTHING better than Wii u, at least not according to what has been shown so far. 3rd party support is even weaker and 1st party games are ridiculous.

Tomb Raider was a standard to all dventure games and Zelda 64 was a natural evolution of that.
RE4 sat a new standard to the TPS genre, but killed the RE franchise at the same time.
Thankfully they changed the recipe with RE7, removing all that useless action.
