They are getting it all wrong to push advertise it only as a hybrid. They need the games more than before.

EA only releasing FIFA, and we need to see how the quality of it stacks up against the PS4/x1, and that's a major publisher out of the equation already.
Ubisoft only making Rayman Legends and Steep ports, no equivalent to ZombiU or some special exclusive.
Wii U had Lego City: Undercover which really shows what gamepad can do. Switch has nothing like this day one..

feels weird to agree with you. what you are saying is one of the many reasons.
it was hard for me to dive in the game and enjoy it from the very beginning to be honest because i was completly lost due to the change of direction, but the game became much more interesting when i understood some of its new mechanics.
Let's not forget FF15 was supposed to be a spin-off, and it excells in this by giving another angle to the series.
Of course, i expect FF16 to be more traditional, especially with FF7 remake is more action oriented.

The good thing with Nintendo consoles and games in general, they don't get old. It's their strength..
EA is a company that wants to make profits, and Nintendo consoles (maybe except Wii) aren't known for being a good bet for 3rd party publishers.
For me, I buy Nintendo machines for 1st party games. If console sales don't take off (mostly due to 3rd party support), 1st party support takes a hit as well.
