Looking forward to Infamous 2, Uncharted 3, Twisted Metal, and The Last Guardian.
Oh and FF13 versus if that comes out this year.
Good sales given the fact that it's on PS3. KZ3 is a great game and ever since patch 1.06 the game has been pretty much flawless.
Anyone expecting Halo/COD like numbers is crazy and delusional. Halo and COD are cultural phenomenons that every company would love to duplicate.
I think KZ3 might be too hard for the COD/Halo crowd anyway.
Not a fan of COD but this would be a seriously smart business move by Sony if they made it happen.
The NGP will probably sell lots even without a MW3 as a launch title, but just imagine how much more it'll sell with it.
I just hope Sony has enough units to sell at launch to meet demand.
It would be awesome if PS3 owners could play against or with 360 owners in MP games like say Battlefield.
As cool as that would be though, I don't see it happening anytime soon. If it does I'd totally support it.
Neither Sony or MS want a new generation to start anytime soon. Sony just began making money on ps3 and MS will want to squeeze every dollar they can from the 360. Ninty is sitting pretty right now and doesn't really need to do anything.
From a financial perspective, I think Sony is in the worst position seeing as how they invested $3 to $4 billion in PS3 and sold the machine at a huge loss at launch. I have no idea how much money they lost with the PS3 but I'm j...
I'd like to see Santa Monica make a brand new game using an improved God of War 3 engine.
An Action RPG with an epic story line and same goriness with 15-25 hours of gameplay would be nice. Oh and an online battle arena multiplayer mode would make a nice addition and would add a lot of replay value.
Imagine God of War 3 mixed with Legend of Zelda mixed with a little bit of Final Fantasy.
Nintendo didn't actually "do anything" to me, it's more of what they made me feel when I bought the Gamecube and felt really disappointed by it.
I bought the Gamecube at launch and felt like they did a horrible job of managing the pipeline with long droughts of games. The only game I bought was Mario Sunshine and didn't buy anything else. I sold my Gamecube after a year or so and haven't looked back.
I don't hate Nintendo, ...
It'd be cool to see Nintendo IP's on PS3 or 360 but it will never happen.
I think Legend of Zelda would be awesome on the Ps3 or 360. I still have Ocarina Of Time gold cartridge for N64 and Link to the Past for SNES.
Nintendo lost me as a fan with Gamecube, and I refuse to buy a console with Gamecube specs and weak hardware. Maybe next-gen I'll be a Nintendo supporter again if they step up their hardware.
I'm a MGS fan and all but I'd like to see Kojima switch it up this time around.
Let's hope one of the announced games is Zone of the Enders and or a brand new game.
^^Agreed.
MS has already begun to abandon the core market in favor of Kinect.
The 360 is just basically a multiplat console now, with literally 1 or 2 games coming from MS this year.
I wonder how long the 360 core crowd will put up with it.
How the hell did this get approved? The article is literally 3 paragraphs with one guy stating his opinion.
Anyways, hardware is Sony's specialty. I don't see how they're "in trouble" when the Ps3 is the best built console out right now.
PS3: "it only does murder investigations."
L.A. Noire looks better everyday. Cant' wait.
As a ps3 only owner the Move doesn't interest me in the slightest, neither does Kinect. Who knows this could change in the future though.
The Kinect outselling the Move doesn't really surprise me too much either since the Move is very similar to the Wii. The average joe schmoe will look at the Move and see a Wii "clone"(not knowing how much better the Move actually is) and will see Kinect as something "totally new". (even if all the games for it ...
I think there's room for both styles of games.
The smart companies who are successful at the big $60 games shouldn't ignore the growing casual game market and at the same time shouldn't abandon the big game market.
If a company like Capcom can make money from the big game market and make extra money selling iphone or android games why the hell not? I seriously doubt any of the really successful companies are just going to abandon big games.
slow news day huh.
" Angry Birds just passed the 100 million downloads milestone – how many of them were paid downloads is unclear"
LOL. Dude doesn't even know how much his game sold to consumers or how many times it was stolen.
xbox 360 install base around 51 million
ps3 install base around 50 million
Wii install base around 85 million
This has been one of the most successful console generations of all time(maybe the most in hi...
I only have a Ps3 but Gears looks pretty good to me. I wish it was on Ps3.
I love how the chainsaw spills blood everywhere.
I agree with the article.
ff13 was the first FF game I didn't bother to finish. I think I was about halfway through the game.
Not saying it was a bad game but it just didn't grab me as much as the other FF's.
As much as I love Killzone, Guerrilla Games needs to take a break from it.
I'd like to see them work on a different/new franchise. If they want to stick with a first person shooter that's fine as long as the gameplay and artstyle are different. They could even use a modified Killzone 3 engine to save them time and money so they can focus on story and gameplay.
I'd personally like to see an outerspace action RPG from them ala Mass effect but way...
