will most certainly not come out in 2009. the earliest they could release it would be holiday 09 and sony would not do that because Uncharted 2, ratchet & clank, heavy rain, are all coming out holiday 09.

2009 is looking like a damn good year for sony software wise. 2010 will be even better.
the only real "killer apps" ive seen so far this gen:
1. Gears of War
2. Halo
3. Super Mario Galaxy
4. Metal Gear Solid 4
5. Call of Duty 4
6. Gran Theft Auto 4
Final Fantasy 13 & versus will be killer apps. Gran Turismo and God of War will be killer apps.
Infamous will be a great game, and it could be a killer app but i doubt it.

slap the name Halo to any videogame and it's guaranteed to sell millions.
if there was a rape simulation game out there starring the Master Chief, it'll probably sell more than Killzone 2. all the 360 fanboys would say it was the best game ever.
100k+ for ps2? damm that's alot for a system that should be dead by now. sony must be making alot off ps2 alone.
218k is not bad for ps3 either, not great or anything. but it is $399, im sure sony made some good revenue. they're more worried about profitability right now and that's cool. remember, the ps3 is good quality hardware with minimal problems.
360 sold 330k that's good, but how many of those systems will eventually break down and cause MS to replace o...

MS gambled on sticking with dvd9, and has worked for them so far but i have a feeling as time goes by more developers are gonna find themselves limited by it. and by developers i mean the ones that always wanna push a systems limits and capabilities. developers like kojima and square.
the true test will be when ff13 versus comes out. if ff13 looks better, has more content, has a bigger gam...
so if we're talking sales then yea give that crown to MW 2 right now because the cod4 fanbase is huge. unless IW somehow f'cks this up which they wont.
graphically they might have a chance to top KZ2 because they'd be using newer tech. but somehow i doubt it. gameplay wise, COD is easier to pick up and play so more people will probably get into it. KZ2 is not so noob friendly.
2009 is already looking solid for sony with killzone 2 already out. infamous coming in may, and uncharted 2 and Ratchet coming out in the fall...and all the multiplats...
im not counting on God of War 3 go come out 2009, they need to take their time with this game. Gran Turismo will probably come out 2010.
if sony can pump out quality versions of; Twisted Metal, Team Ico Game, Syphon Filter, MAG, in 2010, along with GOW 3 and GranTurismo... my god what a f'cking...

i wouldnt overhype this game, cuz then there's potential to fail.(which i doubt because of santa monica's record) but still, they should just let the game speak for itself and stop over hyping it.
gow 3 will deliver no doubt.

sony isnt going anywhere, even if they dont replicate the success of the ps2 they will still be a giant in the industry. when all is said in done, the ps3 may still be able to outlast the 360.
