What are you talking about DJ what conflicting reports? It is a FACT that Xbox 360 can download while you play games. Of course if the game has an update, it will disconnect you from live, install update, reconnect and continue your download.
When you play a game that requires Live Connectivity (for example Test Drive Unlimited) your download pauses automatically. You cannot play online and download for the sake of Live performance.

Will stop during gameplay? That's not good. Okay, Xbox Live downloads stop too, but only when online portions are activated. Other than that you can play any singleplayer game and download simultaneously.

One thing DJ said sounded really logical. PlayStation 2 emulation, being done on PS2 hardware within PS3 was coming with limitations. True, if you use an older chip to render how can you expect upscaling?

If it was a "gift" they wouldnt mark it with big words at E3. PlayStation 3 was supposed to contain EE and GS (and US, Jap versions do contain them), which you "actually" pay for, which wouldn't be considered as a "gift" as well.
