The Falcon did not eliminate RROD.
All you have to do is check my history and see that a couple months back my Elite with a Falcon motherboard RROD'd on me. All the Falcon did was decrease the chances of RROD and not eliminate them. Hopefully the Jasper will eliminate the issue completely but only time will tell.

That's news to me. I had an Elite RROD on me just a month ago that was manufactured in 08. The good news is MS sent me a brand new unit to replace it and not a refurb.
I am simply disgusted.
The sad thing is I feel this moron is the norm and not the exception in the gaming media.
I picked it up for the PS3 and logged about 12 to 15 hours on it already. I couldn't help myself because I love fighting games. But to be honest I only paid $30 dollars for it and most likely I would've passed on it for full price.

and own a PS3 Resistance 2 is a must buy. The pacing of the game had me on the edge of my seat all way to the end. I was disappointed it had to end but I guess that's what online is for.
if you are using broken matchmaking on Gears 2 and praising a game with such a horrible ending. Sorry but I am not being a fanboy but totally honest. G2 is extremely over rated for a game with a broken online system and no definitive ending. than anything else. A lot of sales come from word of mouth. Right now Gears 2 is not doing well online and the campaign ended poorly. If Epic doesn't get the online fixed they might miss out on some sales. COD4 surprised everyone with how well it sold and people might ultimately end up picking up COD(5)WAW to get their shooting on if G2 isn't fixed in the near future.

COD4 was huge and people are turned off by the direction Epic took Gears 2 online. Matchmaking isn't working properly and some don't like the voting options. I know a ton of Gears fiends that want the old way of playing. Pick a mode and cycle the maps. Too many times the same map is voted for over and over again.

I am holding on to Gears 2 for now to see if Epic fixes it. More is broken than just match making (bugs and glitches). I am holding out hope but I am not expecting miracles after how so many glitches went unfixed with the original.
For now I am just playing the co op mode with friends.
the score averages out to a 8.5 with lasting appeal. Even if you throw out lasting appeal it's a 9.0. So no it's not pretty easy to figure out and I know IGN doesn't use an average. IMHO it's just a way for a rating system to throw any number they want as an end result without having to justify it. Just my opinion of course but it is not "simple" as you say.

I am not knocking the score, it's excellent but even I don't understand some sites rankings / ratings system. Why use a number system if it doesn't make sense? Personally I would prefer if reviewers did away with a scoring system and just relied on journalism. Can you imagine how much places like this would level off / calm down if they did?

If you check my profile you will see I am a big time shooter fan. I played COD5 all day today. Halo 3 and Gears 2 the days before.
