I usually prefer Madcatz over Hori. They use the same parts ( sanwa denshi) and are easier to mod / alter. Hori uses hot glue to all their connectors and are a PITA to swap parts out on.
Besides, I prefer the Madcatz cabinets and the start and back/ select buttons not being near the action / input buttons.

This is what the industry has evolved into. Kind of sad but it's here to stay. Release a game, create DLC (sometimes side by side with the creation of the title before it's released), release the DLC over the course of several months or year. Once the DLC has hit it's saturation density? Release the complete (title it what ever the publisher choose) edition and cash in on it all over again.

My slims disc drive makes noise if I don't install the games. Not on all games but Fable, Skyrim and MW3 it does. I usually end up installing every game though. Sometimes I'm just inpatient and play them when I first get them and install once I know Im gonna take a break for 20 minutes to do something. Once installed it's whisper quiet.

It's anything but desperate. It's actually smart business if you think about it. So many reasons why this is a good move. Market saturation, get a shiny new console, buy some more games to go with it, MS is turning a decent profit off of the systems now, MS wins, gamers win, market grows, etc and so on.

I was going to go with something like this when I put my setup together a couple months ago but I prefer the illumination, razor sharp detail and vibrancy of back lit displays vs projectors. I have a top of the line 1080p projector in my basement theater and it doesn't compare to my Samsung D8000 LED's. My projector is slightly faster for gaming but not for dynamic lighting, vibrancy, illumination and fine details.

Do you have the new Hori SCV model? If so have you ever taken it apart? Do they still glue all their connectors together or is that a thing of the past?
