Guerrilla Games suck. Their best game was Killzone 2, Killzone 3 was CoD garbage, and Shadow Fall looks like the PS4 version of Crysis. Every video of Shadow Fall I've seen featured fantastic console graphics but incredibly boring and uninspired gameplay.
If I want pretty but bland I would boot up Crysis 3 on the PC. I don't know what their next IP is but these guys are shaping up to be Sony's personal Crytek.
Would be nice but I guess Battlelog isn't build that way. Maybe something to think about for Battlelog 2.
The worst thing about this how they refuse to release actual GPU specs. Something tells me this thing will be under powered and over priced.
No thanks, I'll build my own Steam Machine when the time comes, it won't fit into a nice square box but it'll be cheaper and more more powerful.
Exactly. There's no way a shooter can approach that size unless it's full of bloat.
The problem here isn't about choice and efficiency. The problem is that at the dawn of a new console generation that is supposed to lead us into the future, we can't even reach the 1080p baseline.
The Xbox One isn't even out yet and the first party dev already maxed out the system. If the nextgen can't even reach 1080p then how do they hope to stay relevant for the next 7 years?
This is a good update but this game is pretty much over with. It's all about Starbound now.
There a simple solution for games that play better on a traditional game pad. Use one. This controller is to enable the vast catalog of mouse and keyboard based games to be playable from the couch. Good luck trying to play EU 4 or DoTA 2 with a game pad. That's why this is a game changer.
Very impressive. I might have to consider an AMD card for my next upgrade. Nvidia better step up.
720p on a nextgen game. What is the point of owning a 1080p console when you can't play games at 1080p! The lack of progress is pathetic.
Wow the haptic feedback sounds totally badass. The devs seems to be impressed by it as FPS controller which is a huge win
Forget about Steam OS, Steam Machine, Half Life 3 or anything else. This gampepad is Valve's most ambitious project because it is trying to solve a problem that haven't been solved in 20 years.
How to bring the precision of keyboard and mouse to console controller. Microsoft and Sony have given up on fixing FPS controller problem by relying on auto aim instead. If Valve can bring mouse like precision to a gamepad then it would rock the gaming world as we know it.
Stagnation is a great way to put it. Sony and MS have done jack shit to progress FPS genre. Their system can barely push 1080p and their stick based controllers are not suited for the fine grade FPS aiming and movement like the mouse and keyboard are.
I really thought the console would be able to reach parity with the mouse aim by now but nope.
This controller will either be a breakthrough or a total flop. Touchpad gaming have never been done and it will need revolutionary haptic feedback technology for this to work the way it's intended.
But Valve have clearly put a ton of thought into this, if it works then many PC bound genre like RTS, and DOTA 2 will break out to the living room.
Being open source is also huge, Valve clearly want you to use this for other platforms.
30 fps isn't a big deal for a single player game. But the most devastating news is that it's creative director isn't able to confirm if the game will be in 720p native or 1080p native on the PS4.
Nextgen consoles, ruined.
PC version on the SteamOS is my only hope for the living room.
Star Citizen is running like shit right and now the game is so ambitious that it could take half a decade and another Kickstarter or two campaigns to actually fund the project to completion.
Long story short, a horrible example.
The only butt hurt I'm seeing here are the fanboys.
PS4 with 50% more power= Specs matter! Greatness awaits!
PC with an Nvidia 770 GTX= Specs don't matter, waaaaaa go away Nvidia you're making our epeen look small :(
What they really should do is to release the Xbox One OS for free so people can build their own custom Xbox One. Sony should do so with their PS4 too, because if you can't lock in 1080p then there is no way in hell your device will stay relevant in five years.
In 5 years my iPad will be able to do BF 4 in 1080p at 60 fps. Which may very well be so because the console industry is poised for a sea change.
Hmm if only 10% of PC gamers can run BF 4 on high or ultra settings than why are BF 3 PC gamers out number console gamers on the scale of 3 to 1? If you look at Battlefield online stats the amount of PC gamers absolutely clown the consoles.
If you didn't care about his opinion then why bothered reading and commenting. The PS4 version that he played was buggy and failed to impress. That wasn't an opinion, unless you think bugs are impressive.
Another idea for Levolution is to feature a Jurassic Park containment facility, and if a "stray" rocket hit the doors then the dinosaurs will run amuck.
