I don't know about these games. They're definitely calming. I played Flower which was a beautiful game but really it's just a very beautiful layer draped over a pretty repetitive mechanic. I guess in that respect it's a lot like most other games. There's an action that you repeat over and over and the only thing that changes are the graphics.

True innovation would come from varied mechanics incorporated consistently throughout the game.

It's a twelve dollar discount.

No, I'm not. I forget to mention that I had never played Street Figther 4 before and suck at fighting games in general. My friend was very experienced in the game and series and had been playing it for about a year. He's also good at Mortal Kombat. The Point is, he's a much better player than me but I still beat him just by mashing buttons whereas he knew all the moves including Haidouken.

This backs my original claim that some fighting games don't requi...

No, not at all. Resistance 3 isn't brown all over, either. There's going to be snow levels, shown off in the concept art.

I don't know about MvC games, but I once played a match of Super Street Fighter 4 against an experienced friend and I beat him just by violently smashing the buttons as fast as I could. I didn't even know what I was pressing but I managed some special moves very quickly.

That just tells me that with some fighting games it's not really about skill or timing it's just about button mashing.

Your idea of keeping yourself in check is totally off. Playing Demon's Souls for 8 hours will damage not only your eyes but your perception of reality. It can temporarily make you more aggressive and angry at any little thing that happens to you in real life. Going to the gym does not help with everything.

I disagreed with you because even though you were working out, you weren't taking care of yourself. You need to healthy and go outside to breathe fresh air and ...

by last do you mean that Rockstar is no longer going to make GTA games for PC?

You fools think that Microsoft would actually report their real profits?

Do you guys not know how American companies operate? They create dozens of LLCs and stash the money in those subsidiaries, then write off the transactions as deductible expenditures so that the SEC and IRS are unable to track the profits.

Do you think Microsoft is bleeding money when they just spent 8 billion dollars on Skype? Do you think Microsoft is bleeding money when just one of t...

It learns by tapping into the internet. It gets smarter over time.

I bet you asked it questions like, "Are you gay" or "Do you want to touch my butt?"

It's okay. We all ask it those questions.

Cloud-based AI exists today.

Wolfram alpha.

chatbot.

Kinect would allow the AI to see the human it is interacting with.

Well, those two examples aren't true Asimovian AI, but they're getting smarter everyday, and Kinect or technology like it can be used in the future to "connect" man and machine into a smooth interface.

Proper sims cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Console games are only known as proper sims in the commercial advertisements.

I don't think it's competition that inspires greatness. It's passion.

If the only reason you get up in the morning and do what you do is because you want to be better than someone else, then you're not going to succeed.

Video games don't come with warranties, either. Ever tried returning an opened game to Target or Gamestop?

New games don't come with any advantages.

Buying the game used means you're paying less for a product that probably has wear and tear.

If you're renting a game it means you are paying to play it for a limited amount of time. Therefore, your argument that the player shouldn't get the full experience is null because the player is playing less for prior reasons (the wear and tear and/or the limited playtime).

Microsoft have no reason to have an online pass because they're already charging the player 40 to 60 bucks a year to play online.

Isn't that what DLC map packs are for?

Isn't that what consoles are for, to limit piracy and generate sales?

So, basically, they don't want you to pirate so they make the game exclusively on consoles. Then, they don't want you to be economically conscious so they discourage you from buying the game used with this pass. Even worse, they might decide to never discount the price of the game while it's on retail so you'll never be able t...

@Mr Space

Again, you're wrong.

White Lightning's argument was the MS was treating its gamers like crap because it was releasing the same slew of games every year.

Then he said that MS was treating its gamers like crap for not marketing games like Lost Odyssey and Alan Wake well enough.

To which I responded, how can MS be treating the gamers like crap if it is releasing those kinds of games in the first place?

I wrote yesterday in a post that I think it's wrong that people are looking to blame something other than the guy who actually did it. Those people are extremely different from this guy. They think all humans are essentially good but are corrupted by something. They're trying to understand what caused this man to do what he did. I personally think that he is 100 percent responsible for what he did and nothing else is to blame - not video games, not religion, not books, not politic...

"One, it would have been very, very difficult to do. It would have been possible, but difficult."

This guy doesn't know how to talk to the press. Don't ever tell the press that you could have done something great but chose not to do it because it would be hard. Instead, stick to the second reason. Say that full-on destructibility would have ruined what Saints Row is about.
