He said he believes the reason for that would be for AMD to show to its investors it ships millions of units in a quarter since all the consoles will use it. I would get the consoles first unless you have a bunch of games or want games coming out in a year that you know will take advantage of the RTX and DLSS. If not get the console and then get whatever gpu comes out next year as it will be even better. Your less likely to change GPUs so if you don't need it wait for a better one.
The opening day of Gamescom was underwhelming and disappointing. Most of the trailers were too short of had no gameplay and most of the new announcements were indie games or remasters. There were a couple cool looking games but nothing amazing in the 2 hours. This wasn't even the indie game day which is supposed to be the last day so it doesn't look promising going forwards.
