Yep. I've gone this far into the generation on one console, I'm not going to bother getting another now. Nintendo games don't really appeal to me and I've little to no need of portability so the Switch is out, and after waiting and waiting to see what would be revealed for the X1 before buying one, I'm not going to drop the cash basically just for Forza & Gears (as much as I love both franchises). I'm happy enough sitting the rest of this gen out with just the PS4 ...

I was curious and had to do a bit of googling and just took GOW as an example. I couldn't find exact numbers but, the first 3 GOW games sold at least ~5-7 million games each (this is going on old data) and each sequel sold more than the previous entry. GOW 2018 is pushing near 10 million. The first GOW released almost 15 years ago and the latest release almost doubled in sales. Seems to me, single player games never really went anywhere, and they're only growing in popularity.

That's insane 😂😂How many games do you have installed?!!? I have a 2tb installed but I just delete games I'm finished with or know I won't play again for a while so I always have about 500-600gb free. I have pretty fast internet too so can usually redownload full games in about 30-40 minutes.

Maybe Disney are actually starting to pay attention to the fans and stepped in? The only reason Sidious is back in ep. IX is to please the original fans (though I think it's too late for the movies at this stage as nothing can repair the damage that was done in TLJ). Perhaps they've seen the backlash over BFII and keep seeing that what all the fans want is another game along the lines of KOTOR. Either way, I'm still not getting my hopes up. For this, or ep. IX.
I'd personally give GOW 10/10 and HZD 9.5/10. To say GG "simply aren't on that level of talent" (which you're clearly implying that they're nowhere near) is ridiculous.

I've been mostly digital the last few years, mainly out of laziness and impatience. Local GameStop rarely does midnight launches and I've never ordered something online that arrived launch day so I end up caving in when big games launch and just buy them digital. Aside from that though, if anyone thinks physical is going anywhere yet they're wrong. It'll still be around for a long time to come. I must have bought hundreds of games for the PS2 back in the day and traded most of them in. Back then it was working out at practically getting a new game for free with every 2/3 traded in so I saved a LOT of money. Saving money always feels good.
