If you divide the number of hours of play, including costs of games, you will find that the Wii U and other consoles are quite cheap as priced. When is the last time you went to the movies and paid a ton of cash for 2 hours of entertainment. The 150 hours or so I have already put into xenoblade chronicles x, even if I just had that game, is about $2.40/hour. Add in any cost of other games such as smash, MK8, splatoon, etc and the cost is miniscule. I have 40 games on Wii u, and the cost is...
This is just wrong in a toys r us. Aren't COD games rated M? What's next, Until Dawn playset, Bayonetta action figures, Dead or Alive dress up kit?
As a long term strategy, the approach is solid. We all became gamers as kids and grew up.
With a Mother 3 character in the current Smash, I expect this to be true. I know he was in previous iterations, but with Earthbound beginnings and earthbound on the e-shop this gen, it seems extremely likely...day one purchase.
Are we still relegating Wii U to last gen...Seriously?! Move on, please. So you are saying that if a ps4 or xbone never released, the eight gen of consoles never would have started?
Because, "Sales, the Game" has a 99 on metacritic. Available on xbox one, ps4, pc, android, mac, ouya, Rift, iphone/ipad, vtech, etc...released on everything but Wii U, as usual.
Haven't you played it?
If the excellent lineup of games already released and confirmed to be released in 2016 are not enough for you, then at least wait until the NX is revealed to find out what it actually is.
The fact is that no one here knows when it will be released, or in what form it will take.
If you have waited this long, then you clearly do not have to play games day one release, so get a Wii U now, enjoy the games and purchase whatever is next when the new games are est...
What may boost playstation VR, is the fact that you don't have to have a high end PC to run it. Playstation is relatively cheap and accessible, which will make it more desirable to consumers. I'm pretty sure the VR accessory will not come in at $600. I'm sure oculus is of better quality, but that doesn't mean anything if you price everyone out.
Just about every industry does the same thing. Does a big mac look like it does in the commercials, does a frozen meal look like the picture, do movies sometimes have things in the trailer that don't appear in the movie, or show only the good parts to entice you? We should expect this by now. Remember back in the day when the box art for a game was awesome, but the game was awful...it's called advertising/marketing and we shouldn't be upset about it.
There is not enough difference to matter or enhance/limit fun in any iteration. We focus way too much on graphics. I say buy on the system/controller you prefer.
For me, the Wii U is my primary console, with about 40 games on it between digital and physical. Just recently purchased an xbox one and I consider it my secondary console to my Wii U. I miss the gamepad alot when I'm playing, but I'm having fun so far.
I hope it doesn't come to NX until a full year after launch.
No system is ever worth buying for one game. The wii u, however, has enough games already released to more than justify your purchase.
How much is the amiibo "functionality" costing you? You are paying for the figure that has a small incentive to purchase. Do pop figures or other collectible figures do anything? What would you expect a business to do, NOT try and sell them? It is not $13 dlc folks.
I really can't object to Nintendo incentivising amiibo purchasers. They are a business after all. I am confident that there will be plenty of future supply when the game releases. Amiibo in general are much more available recently, especially at toys r us.
So far, I have found little reason to purchase amiibo and am not really interested in this one for any functional reason. Twilight princess is fantastic by itself. Someone will. Ery quickly post the new dungeon on y...
I see what you are saying, but typical dlc doesnt net you a cool collectible figure. That figure indeed has value that should be considered. That being said, the coop feature alone may be worth the price of admission.
Explain how a simple change in storage medium would matter to third parties. I'm not a dev so i don't know. To me iy doesn't seem like it would matter
I wish major game devs would stop blatantly excluding Nintendo for everything in 2016.
not everyone was able to play games the first time due to age or means qt original release. perhaps they don't have an old system. remasters don't hurt anyone. they tend to sell well. if you haven't played it...its new to you.
What exactly is the problem?
Other replies here are good, but speaking of the 32gb of internal storage. I promise you that you will likely run out of room on a 500gb HD before the 32gb is used up. The storage requirements of the games are simply much smaller and don't typically require large installations. It took me well over a year to even have to consider an external, which I purchased for like $50.
