Will you be buying 2?
Nothing truly wrong with brand loyalty, in fact it can be a good thing because it actually gives you an extra bit of satisfaction when you make a purchase based on your loyaltn to a brand.
Problem comes when brand loyalty becomes fanatism and you refuse to see anything good from other brands.
Despite the generation starting the way it did, there were not nearly enough giant enemy crabs in games and I for one would love if they made a return as a prominent game design or feature next gen.
Yeah. . .I don't know bout the rest of you, but I have TWO thumbs. Not one. . .unles of course yours was cut off or something, in which case I apologise.
I usually don't disagree with you but you really came in here to tell us you're not gonna buy another xbox just for halo 4?
Is that what the article suggested you do? Nope. I've come to expect rational responses from you and I know you won't disappoint me on this. I just need to know why you came into an xbox 360 only comment section to tell us that you don't have an xbox 360, and you're not gonna buy another one. What conversation where you hoping this revela...
I'd say record pre order sales for the halo series speaks louder than hype.
Halo fans like to leave the talking to their wallets.
Close to 12 million Halo 3 sales speaks volumes in my opinion. Far louder than any hype.
Halo 4 for me. And Hitman.
This whole business about polish and ready when its ready is getting a bit tedious. No game this gen has taken 5 years to develop and lived up to expectations.
GT5, Alan Wake, Too Human, Duke Nuken Forever. . .they'll all fallen short of what their development time suggested they'd do.
I don't see why either TLG or Versus will be an exception.
Lol Sony is just out to make their N4G PR Team (read fanboys) work hard lately. New ugly slim ps3, no price drop on said ugly slim, no 12gb release in NA and now no price drop on current outgoing slim.
You guys have been doing a good job spinning all this though.
Yes, lets not report actual news because ziggurcat doesn't like seeing negative news about SONY. Lets pretend all this isn't happening. Would that please you?
@sumo, quite right. I apologise. Comment edited.
Not always a guarantee. They had lots of games in 2011, including Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3. . .no profit. Doesn't matter in the end if you don't cover the costs of making those hundreds of games.
Not enough hit games, no profit. There's no simpler way of putting it.
Its had its good years and not so great years. This will not be the first time the division is profitable this generation.
Of course the are. It's a multiplatform open world game. PS3 cannot handle such games without some or other problem. It's gotten annoying but expected.
Everybody here is obviously gonna say both options. The real world works differently. Most of the time its one thing over the other. Limited resources (time, money, labour) have to be shared between unlimited wants and needs. Its a basic economics principle.
I for one enjoy gameplay over graphics. End of the generation and one of my favourite games and by far my favourite stealth game is still Hitman Blood Money. Not the best graphics but the freedom and choice of mission completion ...
Seems the fanbase is happy with what Microsoft are giving them. You are ignoring the many XBLA games released each year like the recent Dust and Mark of a Ninja.
Pre-orders for Halo 4 are currently higher than those of Reach and Minecraft is selling at 17k units a week. I'd say they've found their sweet spot and it is working very well for them. Evident in their games department making more profit with just X360 and kinect than SONY's department with PS3, Vita, PSP, PS2 c...
Please just go write your own blog elsewhere. You know what, never mind, this is what the ignore button is for.
Last Guardian?
Some were saying the reason SONY would release a 12GB is because they'd eliminate the need for mandatory install through a faster drive. Turns out that was wishful thinking as usual.
That's Master Chief and Mario you're up against though. Those all stars are great and all, but none of them have individually sold a single game that sold over 10 million.
Master Chief has. Mario's been doing that since day one.
SONY don't have a hard hitting holiday line up as far as business is concerned.
N4G just likes to live in a bubble but in the real world not making money closes down studios even though you're "a gamer not a sharehol...
