The only reason to deposit is to prevent other players from stealing your cash when they send a mugger (unlocked at rank 50 and can be used by giving Lamar a call). You do not drop your money when you die. And depositing your cash does not prevent you paying hospital bills. If you don't have any cash on you, they charge your bank account directly.

No, it doesn't. Rank only determines what missions and features you can access. But of course, some of the missions that can only be accessed when you are 30+ gives you more cash than lower rank ones. But rank does not affect a specific mission's payout. They are all preset.
They won't even be able to catch up to people who played legit and grinded their asses off at this point. I'm rank 40 and managed to get the 395k apartment and 795k dollar Entity XF supercar by the time I reached rank 35. Now, I have to think twice before buying equipment before a mission starts due to Rockstar upping the prices of certain equipment on top of lowering mission payouts.
1.04 ended up being the most cancerous update of all so far.

More importantly; they halved some of the best mission payouts. Out Of Court Settlement now pays 4.5k instead of 9 and Base Invaders now pays 12.5k instead of 25. I guess they underestimated how much people could grind by playing those missions repetadely.

And they got their s**t together in a year after release and it became one of the best selling handhelds of all time. It's been more than year since Vita released and it's barely seen actually good and original releases like Gravity Rush. Hospital bill depends on how much cash you have in your bank account, just like how it works in single player. The highest they can take from you is 2k though (if you have 60k dollars or more). And again, it still doesn't matter since only reason a below Rank 20 player should play around in free roam is to purchase newly unlocked guns from Ammunation or purchasing vanity stuff.
