I'm surprised Google didn't at least try to sell the studio first, before shutting Typhoon Studios down.
Then to ship a game that won't ever get updated is very scummy of Google too.
Larian Studios is one of the best RPG developers around, so I could see them making a phenomenal game. Unfortunately I don't think that will happen.
I know they are lesser known, but I really hope Reality Pump is doing well, because they were working on the next game in the Two Worlds series, but last I heard many left to work at CD Project Red. So I hope this Polish studio is doing alright and will be successful, because the world need more game studios and for them to find success too.
I'd be down for a new Banjo Kazooie, Blast Corps, Blood Wake, Crimson Skies, Freelancer, Jet Force Gemini, Killer Instinct, Project Gotham Racing, a Shadowrun RPG and a real Zoo Tycoon like how in the 90s it was a building management game.
I personally hope Microsoft creates a new studio. Hire ex Double Helix, Iron Galaxy and NetherRealm Studios, then Microsoft can have a permanent video game studio, to work on Killer Instinct or other fighter games.
Hopefully he will start his own company and be able to bring a new spin on the shooter genre.
Microsoft should just create a new studio to make the game.
They should be able to pick off people from Double Helix, seeing as once Amazon bought that company in 2014 they haven't brought out a single game and I have to imagine they want to work on something that will come out.
Possibly get some of the team members from Iron Galaxy too and you'll have a great new video game studio, that knows how to make great fighter games.
Patents like this are pure trash and greed. Having a patent was never meant for this and because of patent trolls like WB this is why we can't have good things.
Another patent troll is Sega, I remember they got a patent from Crazy Taxi to make it so they could be the only one company that can have an arrow on top of the screen, pointing you where you need to go.
I'd like to see a Hexen, Heretic or The Lost Vikings remaster. For people who don't know these games, they came out in the 90s.
If Amazon wants to break into the video game market, they need to create a new video game companies over buying out ones that exist right now.
Buying ones that are already established might be helpful in the short term, but long term it is better to make new ones.

I agree completely with your statement. I feel like The Coalition has shown they are talented developers and it is about time Microsoft lets them try something else.
I also feel like Microsoft should invest more into that company, so they can have another team, working on games, under The Coalition studio. This way they always are working on two games at a time.
How about using that success to bring Ylands to the video game consoles. That is a game that would have great success on Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In my honest opinion, I'm not expecting much, because Ubisoft makes the most boring games around. I'd like to be surprised and to see this game being fun, but I know better, unfortunately.

Hopefully this will lead to mods being welcomed on the Xbox Series X.
I think if Microsoft pushes mods on consoles, you'll see a bigger push from the community on having more mods in games and you'll also see more modders making mods, which would be a big win for everyone.
A new studio that works exclusively on third person, cinematic, single player games.
That is the one genre Xbox needs, yet not a single one of them studios makes those games a priority.
Microsoft should be welcoming these niche titles, instead of not helping them come out.
Doing more to help games like this succeed could lead to more Japanese support and that is something the Xbox could use.
The crazy thing about this is, this game could have helped sell Xboxes.
If Microsoft could have gotten the game on Game Pass too, it also would have been successful for them and possibly opened the door to other Japanese games, but I guess Microsoft doesn't want success in Japan.
