No one ever said no one should be worried but acting irrational and stupid and refusing to listen to anything Sony says is not the way to get over it. People are still saying the might be able to use the encrypted data but if you cancel the debit and credit cards I don't see how anyone can do anything. People act as if I know you name, address and phone number that they can actually do anything with them except send you Spam or junk mail. The point is people keep shouting for answers whil...

Why are all these politicians fishing for answers? What does this have to do with them? Quit butting in and let Sony find the person or persons involved. Sony has explained a hundred times what happened. Weren't any of you listening?

I love how the trolls are always all over these article getting angry because they are getting disagrees and pretending that they are not trolling. And despite the claims that they are victims of 'Sony fanboys' you almost never see them on articles with positive Sony news or Sony game reviews with high scores. Back on topic. If they find the guys that did this, no mercy. This isn't like Geohot with loopholes and excuses. BTW for all the people who keep saying the same stupid thing...

There is a lot of demanding going around. Sony said the credit card data was encrypted, the banks said their have been no loss of funds from the PSN incident, Sony has a third party security firm, law enforcement and FBI searching for who did it, they have apologised and warned everyone several times and we all have determined that there is not really anything they can do with encrypted data or PSN info. But despite all of this the BS is still flowing like a river. And now these guys are comi...

You mean it was all blown out of proportion? No why would attention whoring journalists do that?/s

It makes no sense. Why would they risk contacting Sony when they are out for blood? Also why try to sell info back if they could just as easily start a credit spending spree. They probably ( if this is even true) realized that the info is useless and encrypted. They can't even use what they have for anything even if they wanted to unless the plan is mass email scams and viruses

Drama queens. @ B1663r what the hell are you talking about?

This is just human nature. 'You failed today, so let's look back upon all the other times you have failed' Why? What are you trying to prove? That I have made a few mistakes like all companies have or are you trying to indicate that I am a general failure? People act as if Sony's whole existance was a failure when I can make a long list of many companies that missteped or messed up royally or dealt with a situation badly. Just cut it out. Why is it all situations everyone is s...

Oh please. Even if you have the data it's useless. Not only is it encrypted but practically everyone has either cancelled their cards or is watching their account very closely. Besides if they could use the data why try to sell it back? Why not just start opening up accounts and let Xmas come earily this year for them. Probably only now realize that they can't use anything they have and are trying to bluff Sony.

The point is there are just to many coincidences and suspicious events. I mean it is so easy for Annoymous to say 'we didn't do it' but have no solid proof or alibi to prove it beyond a doubt. People say they are saying level headed things but con men and politicians are smooth talkers too and lie through their teeth all the time. Thetr are even people who can lie even with lie detectors on their arms without triggering it.

So in short I am not going to jump up an...

The long and short of it is for me is if Sony gives me something then i accept. If they don't then i just go back to playing my PS3 as usual. I am not going to run around and kick and scream until i get something. i have more important things going on in my life to be worrying if Sony is going to give me something for free or not.

3 people so far reported this. If there are more I haven't heard about it.Maybe you just talking crap Ars readers. Do you really think that if someone stole credit info off PSN that the person would be stupid enough to start spending it all at once especially with Sony and the banks ready to hunt them down if they so much as show their faces?

5395d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

This is why Sony had to find out if anything was at risk before issuing a statement. Just imaging if they made everyone panic and you canceled credit card and it turned out to be nothing. Pointless cancelling reissuing

Just make both the censored and uncensored version of the game and cover and put mine in a plain brown wrapper when I buy it. Problem solved

Sony already said that the information was encrypted. These statements from the banks are just solidify their claim. I don't think people understand the situation very well. The longer this goes on the more useless the information will become even if the hackers do decrypt the info. People would have already cancelled and got new debit and credit cards and be watching their accounts like a hawk.Even if they wait until everything cools down it will probably be too late

It's obvious that reseting our accounts couldn't be an option. Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't that erase all our, PSN money, games, trophies and saves? That wouldn't be good

Sony sold 8 million Moves without barely lifting a finger, has games that contest almost every game in existence, is about to pass the 360 with a system that started late, got attacked pnd out down from everyone and that is still the most expensive of the two and whose last generation systems the PSP and PS2 still sell to this very day. Doesn't sound like they are going down much to me. Maybe it's all in your heads?

Sony has been around for a long time. It will take a lot more then this to bring them down. @ -MoOkS- Who takes Fox News seriously? 90% of the time they are either exaggerating or they have no idea what they are taking about. You must really be desperate to use them as an example to prove your point
