The I/O structure, removing bottlenecks and pure ssd speed is crazy stuff. Just raw numbers great, but compression and decompression on the fly. Nothing is close to using what PS5 is capable of.
The PS5 power will become more apparent.

I'm still laughing at when XBOX fans were screaming from the hilltops that they had a 12tflop machine and Sony's was 10.2 lol. Yet Sony's machine bests it all the time. Framerate, throughput i/o controller, sound.

About practices. When the 360 came out, MS were slagging off the PS3 for a year before it even came out, it was comical. They had films mention the 360 and halo, but the propaganda was unreal....

I switched from Xbox to PlayStation because of Microsoft's deep PC hooks. Then.

In the Original, you have to stop the player to aim and shoot. That's worse imo.
On xbox there is a problem with movement, deadzone setup is wrong. controls feel bad.
On PS5 the image quality should be better, there's an issue with upscale.
But tbh. I think most of these engines are legacy and don't really use the features of the newer machines, this game shouldn't need upscaling. it's decent looking. But should run...
