The base game content can be a real slog though. I've returned twice, and never managed to get through to the expansion content, as the main stuff is a bit draggy.

TLoU isn't an open world game. It was made to carry you through the story in a sequence. RDR2 promises the freedoms of open world, but drags you back to the mission structure constantly.
I like RDR2, but veering off the path tends to make you spend a lot of time on travel to get back to the story.
It failed to be Guitar Hero when pop overtook real rock music. Horrible track selections killed GH.

Fixed camera was part of Resident Evil's charm, and made the game far more tense than the free camera games that came after 4.
The modern RE's scares and tension all came from cheap overcrowding from all directions and cinematics, whereas the fixed camera made you wonder what was beyond the end of the screen in every room.
