Accurate!

I think we'll see a 1TB Scorpio for $399 and a 2TB for $499. It just makes sense. I mean Microsoft could have come out with a 6TF console this year for the $700 price point a lot of people were talking about. This thing is going to be huge, because Microsoft didn't jump to push out a half measure this year, instead they've waited for cheaper but more powerful parts next year.
Exciting time to be an Xbox fan!

I never said they put all of them, but a good majority of them. From Halo 1, 2, Gears, Fable, Viva Pinata, KOTOR ect.
It's never been a big deal because console gamers play on console.

Actually the EU PlayStation boss said just that. Nobody wants to play old games via backwards compatibility. He said it was a fad and waste of time.

Why would they look at it that way? They've always put their games on PC. PC and console gamers are different, occasionally you'll see people use both.
I always love the argument "What point is there to owning an XB1 if I can play everything on PC?". The answer is simple. Are you a console gamer? If yes, then you'll want to own that console.
As console gamers 99% of the games we play are multiplats, and 98% of those are on PC, yet we as console owners...

"Nobody want's backwards compatibility" -Sony

You can pretty much tell there's a lack of faith in this product. Sony spent a total of 15 seconds advertising it at their event. There's not really anything resembling a killer app. Could be a rough holiday for ol' Sony.

Nice! Xbox is doing great. I love a good comeback story, and this might be the most shocking one in the history of gaming. Very odd that the media is downplaying the poor sales of the PS4 Slim. New hardware always sells, but the PS4 Slim seems to be DOA.

Well HDR is the truth, and many games are starting to support it. No sense in getting excited about 4K gaming until Xbox Scorpio next year though.

Xbox One gamers have a lot of games to choose from. The more surprising thing was Wii U beating PS4. Probably doesn't help that Sony is going through yet another dry spell where AAA exclusives are concerned for the holidays.

Nice! Saw a nice bump in the active community today on the game. Sure is nice to be able to keep your old games in your collection and go back and play if you want. Sucks some companies decide for you that you don't want backwards compatibility.

4K pairs with HDR and "there aren't any current plans to change that," says Netflix.

What part of needing to output and receive 4K don't you understand?

3465d ago 2 agree5 disagreeView comment

Been saying this all along, the PS4 fat and PS4 slim don't do 4K upscale, and you need 4K compatible HDMI 2.0 to use HDR. This was always Sony being Sony. They love to sound good ie "4ThePlayers" or "WhereTheGreatestPlay&quo t;. So long as it sounds good, they'll say it and not worry about if it actually works.

Same guy who gave the last Forza game a 4/10 and ironically gave Quantum Break a 4/10. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this guy holds a grudge against Microsoft. In the end it didn't matter, as Forza Horizon 3 is obviously universally acclaimed and sits at a 91 Meta score.

HDR can only be used with HDMI 2.0. The PS4 Slim and PS4 launch consoles don't have that.
According to the HDMi.org website:

New features HDMI2.0b: Support (HDR) High Dynamic Range Video Transmission

The only port standard that supports HDR and 4K video output to a reasonable degree according to the HDMi Open Standard organization is the HDMi 2.0b specification (introduced in 2015 with the HDMi 2.0a standard), which is currently supported on...

So the PS4 slim gets an 8.0 even though they did nothing to improve the controller, they removed the optical audio port, and have no 4K Blu-ray player or true HDR due to the HDMI being HDMI 1.4 still. And this can't even upscale games to 4K, yet costs $299 the same price as the Xbox One S that has HDMI 2.0, true HDR, 4K Blu-ray player, allows 4K media streams and upscales games to 4K as well. And the new Xbox One S controller has Blu-tooth and longer range and was redesigned. IGN gave tha...

Which part is the dream? The fact that Microsoft's own engineers are on record saying Scorpio will do native 4K gaming, or the part where developers have confirmed PS4 Pro can't unless it's a remaster from last gen or an undemanding game?
