That's not exactly what he said. If you read the quotes he says that graphics cards are more powerful than consoles, but they are hampered by the APIs that they have to use on PC.
He then says that he would like to be able to program directly for PC hardware like they can do on the consoles without having the overhead of the APIs.
Well not really. I learned about radiosity through the Maya/Mental Ray documentation while trying to get my renders not to look like complete arse.
Radiosity is basically bounced lighting. For example. If you are in a dark room and you switch on a light, the whole room is filled with light. Even places that don't receive direct light (like under tables) are lit. The reason for this is because the light bounces of surfaces.
Now in a video game with a simple lighting model, this doesn't happen. The underside of the table would be pitch black.
In the video at 26 secs you can see what this simple mod...
Maybe they should introduce a leveling system where you can agree and disagree, but can't bubble or de-bubble until you reach a certain level.
That should stop most of the multiple account de-bubbling.
Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth...
Did that actually fix the problem with the current D-pad?
The problem with current D-pad isn't really the shape.
The problem is that it's too big, so it hits against the controller.
The other problem is also that it doesn't feel like buttons. The D-pad feels like it's sitting on top of an analogue stick.
I don't know what everyone is complaining about. This looks like great value to me. Here's a summary of the service:
For $4.2 a month you get:
1 x PSN Game (Valid while subscription lasts)
2 x Minis (Valid while subscription lasts)
1 x PSOne Classic (Valid while subscription lasts)
2 x Premium Avatars (Keep forever)
2 x Dynamic Themes (Keep forever)
2 x Full Game Trials (Play for 1 hour and purchase if you want the game)...
I think you're confusing the Max Payne movie with the game.
The game scored 89. The movie 31. (On metacritic)
Think it's optional. You can use usb or the charging station.
Gabe looked really uncomfortable on stage.
However, it must have been nerve wracking for him to walk out on stage in front of hundreds of Playstation fans that probably hate him.
So props to Gabe and I hope Valve do well on the PS3.
Although I'm a PS3/PC gamer and don't even own a Wii, it seemed like Nintendo gave their fans everything they asked for.
Sony should have spent a little less time talking, and more time showing more games. The show only became interesting after about 40mins. Last Guardian, Resistance 3, Agent, and FF13vs would have been great.
I was also hoping for more Move support in more core games going forward. For example Dead Space 2 with Move support, or futu...
People, just ignore Keele.
He seems to be on a complete trolling mission.
If I had to guess, he's doing research for a blog: "How to loose all your bubbles in 24 hours!"

I like the "programming" aspect of it and it's a fun way to teach programming concepts to kids, but the games creation itself just isn't that great.
Technically the detail can't be unlimited. It will be limited by how much data you can store on your hard drive.
I like the idea they have of searching through the data for only the relevant pixels that need to be displayed.
I don't know how well this would hold up if you add animation and physics interactions.
They made the sub controller so you could have an analog stick for movement, but if you're using two Move controllers to play (i.e for a sword and shield), you again don't have any analog sticks.
I hope they put motion sensing in the sub controller too. You can have your sword and your shield and still have an analog stick for movement in the world.
As far as I understand, the clock should work again at 00:00 (GMT) on March 2.
EST is GMT -5:00, so that means that it should be 19:00 EST and not 13:00 as in the article.
When this clock hits 00:00 everything should be working again.

Yes, please. But put David Perry in charge again and don't let Bioware anywhere near it.
Also bring Tommy Tallarico back to do the music.
"What i am seeing in Halo reach overall so far, especially this screenshot http://gamingbolt.com/wp-co... is depth of field and a rich use of lighting"
With your keen sense of observation did you also happen to notice that the picture is hand painted concept art?
Actually the developers have debugging and profiling tools to see exactly how much processing power they are using. They can see what part of the code is using up a lot of processing power, and where they can make improvements. They can see which of the SPUs are running at 100% load and which are idle or running at lower loads.
They can also see exactly how much memory is being used.
Just by looking at the WinXP task manager I can tell you that at the moment my one processo...
Carmack has never been a designer at id Software. He is the Technical Director. I agree that the design if id games are influenced by what Carmack comes up with for the engine, but he does not design the games himself.
Furthermore, for me id games has sortof always just been a showcase for their latest technology. The design was usually mediocre, but the tech made it worth it. With all the games coming out nowadays, great tech simply just isn't gonna cut it anymore.
