People think of me as a fanboy because of my view on blu-ray. I like PS3 and many of the games coming for the PS3... but I am not going to hide that I don't like what sony have done with blu-ray...
I may be confused... but it seems to be that the only thing this device will do is record the channels that your tv already have. I don't think you can compare this to a premium service like cable... since unless I understood wrong... none of the cable chanels will be available for free. Just wherever is avaiable via air. I don't know about europe.. but local channels are not the best in the US.. which is why people pay for cable. Will this device let you see more channels?

I though blu-ray already won and blu-ray adoption is innevitable. Why would they need to do this? Why are they wasting money promoting blu-ray when blu-ray needs no promotion?

This tunner does not make much of a sense in the US... one can only get local channels over the air... heck.. I can't get any channel over the air where I live... (Too many buildins)... specially if you live in a building.. only way to get tv is cable. And even if the PS3 tv tunner accepts cable input... most cable service prodiders already offer DVR... Paramount will not lose anything on this deal... Right now HD sells do not affect their revenue at all... maybe it will affect them 2 years from now... when HD movies start selling more movies than standard dvd movies. If things don't work with HD DVD and blu-ray becomes the HD format of choice on the mass market... they can always go back and make their movies on blu-ray... and all you Sony fanboys forget this ever happened. it's not that people hate sixaxis.. it's that each developers implements their own crap when it comes to the tilt functionality.
"In RFoM, tilting the controller to see scores and maps was a great way to include even the smallest utilization into the game" features known to work.. like that should be be consistant between applicable games. This is why some getting games where the heavy use of the tilt functionality is a risk.

Don't forget that XBox 360 owners can connect to their PC running media Center and stream all their movies, music videos, pictures from their computers.. ofcourse this is not a choice you have a PS3 owner.... But XBox 360 owners can connect to all their PCs in the network giving them unlimited access to the network to store stuff...

XBox 360 core owners can always buy a hard drive.
Core ($279) + $100 = $379... That's still cheaper than a PS3. By how much? $120.
Want 120GB Hard drive? ok... Core ($279) + $179 = 458... ohh crap it's still cheaper than what you would spend for a PS3 ($499) and you still get like 60GB more.

Xbox 360 version for me.. For the following reasons:
1) Achivements.
2) Multiplayer Game invites.
3) Voice chat.
Yeah.. yeah.. you don't have to post comments in response to what I said.... we know.. achivements are dumb and stupid... and game invites are last gen... and voice chat is even worst.

Just because Konami prefer the PS3 does not mean the game will be automatically better on the PS3. No developers makes a game suck on purpose for some particle platform (though that's what Sony fanboys want to believe... cause it makes them feel better).
