If this is true... I don't think is because of the actual game.. they like doing this. I have never stayed in line for anything.. and always get this on the first day. Anyone devoted enough to do this... would know just to order in advance.. on the first day.. pre-ordering started.
I think some people get a hardon... knowing that they waited in line.. and got the item(game, console, etc) a few hours earlier than others.
Why is this a surprise? And why are sony fanboy using this title as a lost to the xbox 360? Isn't this game made by namco? wasn't namco an developer that only wanted to support the Playstation brand before and now is releasing games like this one timed exclusive to the xbox 360?
I think this is a win win for microsoft... they are having 3rd party developers that used to support only Sony now supporting them.

Will the xbox 360 be a sucess in Japan? it depends how you define success... You see.. If you pay close attention to Microsoft strategy you will see that they know they are not going to do much in Japan with the xbox 360. This is not because the Xbox 360 failed... but because the orinal xbox failed and now the xbox 360 is being affected by it. Will releasing Final fantasy XIII or other Known stablished game on the XBox 360 help the xbox 360 sell games? well.. if you consider that these games ...

wow.. this is how you know when a game is big... When was the last time something like this was done for any Playstation game?
The xbox 360 currently have more than one MMO... proven to work.. "user interface, connectivity, and play styles" here is their problem... Xbox live features like game invite, gamerscore, achivements, messaging, etc... are consistant and guaranteed across all games... same experience and 0 learning curve from game to game...
Some developers don't want that.. they want to make their own gamerscore.. their own game invite system.. they own voice chat system...

@ThaGeNeCySt - Did you know both of those games are made by Microsoft Game studio? Did you also know that PGR developers help adding this feature to Forza? Well... that wouldnt be copy.. Microsoft can't copy themselves. Sony copying this from Forza 2 or PGR would be different.
Microsoft did not need a price drop before Halo 3... they were going to sell consoles regarless... This is just a reminder to Sony that the XBox 360 will always be cheaper than PS3 and that Sony cannot go head to head with Microsoft on a price war. Microsoft will not let Sony sell PS3 cheaper than the most expensive xbox 360 SKU. Period.

I love the whole destructive environment... but I am afraid for this game... with other FPS like COD4.. I don't know how well this game can hold. What make this game so nice on the PC is the large maps and the ability to fly planes, Hellicopters and drive behicles... but for some reason.. though consoles are more powerful.. they are making dumb down versions.. I want to fly freaken planes! I hope that BF modern combat was the way it was because it was a PS2 port... the PS3 and xbox 360 versio...
