Console sells for the PS3 dropped this week in japan. Wii sells are up. I do admire retailers faith in the brand. at the rater the console is selling compared to Sony shipping these retailer may have to buy bigger warehouses to store all these consoles.
Well it's a no brainer. If microsoft makes a blu-ray drive for the 360 people would buy it. they would make money of it anyways. Unlike Sony their success is not defined by which format comes on top, since they have nothing to gain. I wouldn't mind if the 360 would have a blu-ray player as long as they don't charge me extra for a feature that it's not a standard.

Did you see the PS3 console charts in japan this week? down from last week. Every week is going down. At least the xbox 360 sells in japan are constant though lower than the PS3 which is predictable.

Compared to the original xbox microsoft now has huge support from 3rd party developers which as proven every day are not having 2nd thoughts before supporting the xbox 360 first and the PS3 2nd.

Consoles are not successful because they are relative smaller than PC and more importantly cost a lot less. Lets also not forget that developers love having to program for 1 or 2 hardware configurations. same ram, CPU and GPU. Try buying a video card nearly as powerful as the 360 GPU and it will cost almost as much as the 360. Just remember console manufactures sell their console at a lost (well not nintendo but look at the specs) PC manufaturers will not do.

I am glad that you own a PS3 and you are able to run it at full 1080P considering the fact that all PS3 games run at 1080P. I have nothing to show yet, but I'm re-writing a RPG game engine I wrote a while back to C# and the XNA framework.
I would really like it make an MMO instead, but it wouldnt work for the xbox 360 since xbox live is not enabled for xna games at least for now. I would have to stick to PC.

Can somebody people tell why some of you keep bringing the "w/ ps2 it was the same thing no descent titles.". The PS2 didn't have to have any good titles; it was more of a PS2 vs PS1. Sony only had to work on convincing people to buy their new console over staying with the PS1.

I think it's obvious that microsoft will be dropping the price of the HD DVD drive; specially considering the new SKU (black one) release with HDMI and larger hardrive.
