...I guess what difference did the PS2 made in copeting with Xbox while it never had a proper online service, PS3 is going to continue on that even with an online service. Over 80% of people who enjoyed Xbox-Live were from America alone(as out of 22 million sold...14 million were in America), and it wasn't established in Japan, Europe and the rst of the world. So even when PS2 never had anything like that, they did it on the base of single-player experiences alone. Only PC folks really picked...

...I must first say that I disagree to the extent that GOW's nothing but a good looking game. I must add here that alongwith a cool usage of the Unreal Engine, it does have that outstanding animation system that is so pretty to look at, every action is tailor-made so most of the action appears to be going on as a cut-scene. All of this praise goes to the animation system. But I do agree with JIN on the aspect that there is in-effect nothing else going on around in GOW !...

"By contrast, Resistance is a really polished game - the kind of thing you expect to see a year after a console launches, not the day it comes out."

^^^...more and more people are admitting of the edge PS3 is having even at this earliar stage before even the launch itself. Awesome!!!

"Resistance is truly stunning. When you play it, you say “Now that’s PS3!” It’s amazing to think that this is a day-one game. It’s already beyond — both technology and gameplay-wise — anything on Xbox 360 a year after its launch. Insomniac are set to deliver the goods, and we can’t fathom what they will be able to do with a few more years of learning the PS3.".......!

---Yeah !!! that's what I've been saying all the while people !

Speaking of Sony's contribution into the expansion of the overall games industry, from great art-styles to spanking new genres and an impossible to compete-with hardware...now the great inclusion of a fully fuctional HD next-gen software library, accessible to all devs wherever, literally makes them the grand-daddy of this empire.

...HaHaHa man you are real funny, no damn about it, I really don't want to call you a retard for your post is more pitiful than annoying. Man you kept some time writing all of this and for real none of it makes 360 nearly in league with PS3, so whatever dude, happy rumblings !!!

Both VirtualGamer and ShadowGamer, your recollections are awesome, you pretty much shattered the 360-fanboy souls in feastable episodes. These perspectives are really superb, and now with everyone as consumer as well as critic and press are finding the edge that PS3 has, the true next-gen is starting to be revealed and the day of unveiling is Nov. 11th !!!

I really wish that someday Sony puts in rumble as well, but if there really is an innovative choice to make then yeah ! motion-sensitivity is the optimal choice, for sure we've been enjoying rumble for about 8 years now and although it did have a point at start but actually it has always been non-existent...really, I don't remember ever a game being totally like, basing on the rumble feature...nor I remember ever in the entire history of internet forum chatting a single mention of Wow, prince...

All of the devs has expressed that PS3 is the thing you call the movie theatre and I do think TheMART that you are old enough to know which one's more powerful, a theatre or a home TV !!! then several devs from Japan that includes Kojima and Sega CEO has expressed that it will be the most suited system around three years from now, so once again 360 downs here, and from specs side...almost everyone, including Itagaki, Mark Rein and the PGR3 dev has approved the usage of next-gen disc format of...

...among the 7(if you want to download just 1 and see the most) is the one titled "FAST FLYING". It features flying under the bridge as well and detail on each stone is just breath-taking. I've always thought of LAIR as the medieval WarHawk, but the fact is that the procedural ocean down below is even more spectacular than WarHawk with big tidal waves as well.

Another jaw-dropping aspect of the game is that with all those calculations running on fire, wind, clouds, water...

Great news post there shortyNZ, you own the day...really, these are some of the things really got slipped in one instance of the mind, but they really show how unprecedent and far out of reach this beautiful machine is from the current-gen. Wow, its simply uncomparable and this post really made me love it more and anticipate like mad !!! Thanks again !

Wow, that was the truth and world is now the approver of it...Gears of War is as all of you know a total Unreal Engine game, you know, total normal mapped stuff, from debris on ground to great looking walls are all a single texture placed on plain polys, hah, no doubt all it needs is a single DVD-9, as no physics would be seen for the environments won't be broken down into pieces...moreover its all 12 hours gameplay with 8 players online, well end-of-story basically. Its been so long in makin...

All Mr. Itagaki has to look at to consider PS2's power is Shadow of the Colossus...the game does motion-blur, depth-of-field and HDR lighting...yeah(checked at wikipedia too, for I just couldn't believe my eyes when I played the game) all next-gen stuff in a seamless game...on PS2 that doesn't even have a dedicated GPU or a HDD, and all memory for visual expertise that is available is just 4mb video RAM. A technical industry standard game, winner of several yearly awards and just won another ...

That will be my first downloaded game if I did go online...no doubt I'm quite enticed by 'Flow' as well but I was really looking forward for a story-oriented online low budget game from Sony's offerings, and here's one. XBLive Arcade pretty much contains 'windows' like games from rolling balls to shooting stars, but a game like this is what attracts the gaming community most. Thanks Sony, you did it again !!!

Wow, great find indeed. This approach of marketing is indeed awesome. Its very interactive and gaming appears to be sneaking into the real world, awesome Sony, the direction is superb to take !!!

...I'm not blaming anybody up, no way, while you read the folks apppreciating 360, the very same folks find PS3 better than that, yeah all from GameSpot, IGN, 1UP, GamasRadar...and every other who got a hands-on even before launch say that about PS3, from its uber silence to the fresh disc-entering approach, from 'video-chat' in Resistance to online-ready downloadable e-distribution games...every thing is Uber in PS3.

And you have to agree, that its the consumers who decide the...
