Yeah the gears demo showed 'Normal Maps' and what the final game delivered...'Normal Maps' that's all. Visuals...that's all UE3 engine is basically capable of. Did the final gears had all that jumping off the walls action ?! Nah, did it have 10s or 100s of enemies swarming the screen? Nah(only 3), vahicular combat? Nah. Insane next-gen physics ? no, just no way.

...to purchase this beautiful media machine. Call me a whacko if you may but 'damn' am I honest when I say that gaming has just become secondry for me. I mean I'm totally sold, I'm ready to pay even 800$ for a media device that has a 3D world in it, can go interacting with my friends, or to a shop or playground with posters of games all around...at my will. its a PlayStation fan's as well as every gamer's dream come true.

Just WOW !!! I can't find remorse for myself I'm THIS excited for the feature. Everybody kept 'talking' about an innovative take on the social aspect of Online but Sony 'DID' it and its only 3 months that they have entered online.
I agree with 'Bilal', the above report definitely is the best description of 'The Home' thus far, complete with high quality pictures. The individual detail of the 3D avatars in 'The Home' is mentioned as all next-gen and customizable...just INSANE ! ...
Man, this amazing thing so masterful in inspiration and so immersive as an online creative activity...I can't find words to express my gratitude towards Sony. How did microsoft never thought of it? Like physics, interactivity and particle effects. You guys can't simply compare it with a UE3 tech demo that resulted in Gears.
UE3 does almost nothing but visuals, see what else you get NEW in Gears besides graphics !
-only 3 NPCs on-screen at a time,
-no water,
-minimal physics and almost no interactivity.

...MS had nothing but Halo series. It was the only game that could reach 6 million spot on 360. Sony has multitudes of franchises selling full well. Halo-2's being still on top of XBL ladder means that besides the regular customers who got xbox in the last-gen, there aren't many new customers buying 360 and its over a year now.
360's mediocre online games offering in over a full year can't even start to compete with Sony's titles just after three months launched:
PS3 is out only 3 months launched, and yeah PS2 lives !!!
BUT,
360 is out 1_year_AND_3_months, xbox is dead, but still a xbox game Halo-2 stays on xbl top HeeHeeHee !!! 360 is desperate for games diversity.

They are not the 720p / 1080pictures. They are the rest of the images from the same EGM edition. They are really sweet though, but I would certainly like to see raw direct-feed images or even better a video.

Top game folks are waiting on the only greatest thing, the PS2. that the game control is phenomenally realistic, may be a little too much realistic but that doesn't make it any less perfect. Its more simulation than a fun-oriented title. Even the earlier news today of a real-life F1 racer praising the hell out of this game is the testimony of that.
