You know, Arcania and Gothic as a whole fell off my radar a long time ago. I need to sit down in front of my PC and go through Steam and just horde some demoes.
Same goes for PSN...there's a ton of demos I just haven't made time to get to.
Another goal of this article was to see what lesser known titles fellow gamers were looking forward to playing.
Sidenote: I too and looking forward to playing GT5 and Black Ops, but its definitely lower on the list. That and I'm sure GT5 and COD: BO won't have a problem finding an audience.
[in Carl voice] "She's a regula' hoebag!"
This guy gets it.
This was actually pretty darn constructive.
Like I said, RDR definitely deserves all the awards it'll more than likely receive around Game of the Year time [which is weird considering I've been accused of bashing the game], but I'm entertaining the idea of what makes that 'happy balance' of a story that draws the player in...as well as a world that has just enough sidequests that doesn't detract from the story.
I'm narcissistic because I wrote an article that I feel passionately about? You're free to comment just as I am correct?
I promise to try better next time. Really...I will.
One of many points I make in the article is that no matter how many times we try and perfect this 'open world narrative' game design you run into the same issues the predecessors did. Staleness of story paralyzing sidequests.
All we have to do is look at the manufactured controversy around Dante's Inferno.
I know this change won't be immediate, but the buzz around Medal of Honor is so luke warm and 'meh', and I'm a HUGE Battlefield fan that I can't even muster enthusiasm for this game.
I'm also a part of the camp on the GT5 train, but I'm really wondering how it will be received long-term. There have been solid racing games released in the past 3 years [heck this year gave us Blur & Split Second] and true none of those games are Gran Turismo or F...
I was talking with other writers on how history is kind of repeating itself this year with yet another COD game coming out in addition to Halo...I'm wondering how many games have been pushed to Jan-March as a result. Time will tell.
1) See 3
2) Very true, and barring how far of a step back I think it is for the modern FPS, it only makes sense that the industry took notes and made a financial decision in which to release their games at a later date.
3) Though I 'use' to be a fan of Eminem, he [much like the Call of Duty] has brand marketability. Where if you put Eminem on any record...chances are it will sell because of the populous' attachment to the name.

I thought I had made it to the big time when I got my PS3 last year. My then 12 year old CRT smelling of fumes and fail. Playing Burnout: Paradise on that device was one of idiocy and clearly contributed to the eventual cataracts I'll have in my 50s.
Again...a product like Assassin's Creed Or Heavy Rain need to validate the copy you've purchased by having your machine login online. What happens if that goes away?
Since when was it not cool to voice an opinion? I even like Gears 2 [which I state in the article]. Its the formula I'm tired of.
Seriously, why aren't more people talking about a new Panzer game?
I was looking up screenshots of cut content from Yakuza 3 and there it was. I haven't heard any complaints about the sexy japanese man at the header of the article, but hey I guess only the immature would dwell on the immature in the article. [If you notice in the article I actually joke that I could see why that part would be cut]
I'm pretty grateful that there has been a reasonable discussion on this topic on my site and N4G. Thanks again and yes I'm still a huge Sega/Sammy fan...
Assault of Roomate? Damn homie.
