That really does suck.
Let's not pretend that the reason why the PSP sold well was because of the (beyond well known) piracy issues coupled with holiday bundles. I love the PSP, but if we look at the numbers in the US alone (where piracy of the console isn't as major as it is in Europe & Japan) in the past two years the console has barely tracked 5 million.
Personally, I think Sony should focus on its Europe & Japanese base and turn into an import handheld device since that's wh...
What about the 800 or so cars ported over from the GT4 car models?
This guy gets it and the dilemma that comes with it.
No one is saying gaming should be strictly Communist/Socialist/Capitalist , but as it stands now...it could do better to learn from history. Otherwise we will have a gaming movement similar to that of fast food chains.
I think capitalism [as it stands now] has lost all meaning of what industrialist in the late 19th and early 20th century stood for. Capitalism in smaller formats [such as the indie scene] could be something to watch as a good litmus test to how the in-the-know gamer responds to mainstream games. Now the general consumer [the CoD/Halo/Wii buyers] is a whole different ball of wax.
Consider it...on the radar.
I don't know if I trust your post Spider050. Pics or it didn't happen.
You put 'partly' in your vague description of game design. Role playing games aren't exactly synonymous with RPGs [meaning in the traditional sense]. Going by your description Gran Turismo is a role playing game [i'm a race driver...racing cars], yet one of the games strongest attributes is making the player feel like they ARE the driver [as opposed to being a character who is driving a car].
How did i forget about Act Raiser! Damn it
There are parts of this game that would have my little sister giggle with glee. Then there were parts that were just flat out boring as hell. Still not entirely sure who this game is aimed at.
Looks like Illbleed needs a sidequest that involves rhythm-based rapping in a dark ally.
The old King of Fighters, but I don't miss the impossible final bosses of those ole NeoGeo fighters. They were seriously impossible without emulation.
Though I love how Virtua Fighter 5 has evolved...it suffers the same problems most 3D fighters do. Very technical vs very cartoony physics.
Would love to see Rival Schools revisited in some way.
And though there were many 2D games that experimented in 3D, I'd love to see the opposite occur.
It can be as good as *insert popular zombie game* but at this point...how do you sell it? "Zombie's are in it..and its like roguelikes." Yech. There I said it. Roguelikes aren't that hot.
Unappealing to look at. Tell the devs to change it...so that it suits my needs.
If you've played Lemmings [which you should] then you need to get on that Worms. The original. None of that Armageddon s**t.
However, the pants are off.
Yeah, I didn't say they were first week purchases, but they are definitely something I'm actively checking the price tickers for.
While stacking this incredible handheld with tons features and connectivity, I would think it would be in the PSPs best interest to promote the software-side of their platform more so than the tech.
Now the system has to keep its handheld at a ridiculous price in order to keep developers interested. I'm not sure whats worse, a phone with a bloated game store or a handheld game system that is struggling to sell the consumer games.
