Because this game is still trying my patience.
I was expecting the story to build to something. Killzone 3's story, literally, 'just ended'. It stopped with no resolution. Story telling 101, give the audience a conclusion after the climax.
No one is asking for a story EXACTLY like Half-Life or BioShock. At the same time, saying the game is better than Killzone 2 [which it barely is], is like saying, "This story doesn't suck as much as this."
Not really a compliment.
I'd rather pay $60 for one rich mode that makes an honest effort. Then paying the same for one rich mode and a mode that 'almost-kinda' works.
I said this before, but if Killzone 3 came with just the Multiplayer, the review would be different. It didn't. And judged the whole product the way I saw it.
"Okay, the story is bad, but come on! Since, like...all FPS stories are pretty bad...Killzone's actually looks good by comparison."

I tend to use lunar voice when I write [to acknowledge an attachment].
In the single-player you are only given the jetpacks once.
If you think [even in that gif I showed you] that Jammer is realistically modeled compared to the rest of the bland cast...gonna have to agree to disagree there.
In just about every genre you've mentioned...the bad FAR outweigh the good. If you'd kept it at FPSs...we could just say that games writing in FPSs are bad, but no. So here we are. You could at least do yourself a solid and acknowledge the fact that you're pointing out 'exceptions', because it certainly aint the rule.
God of War 3, Call of Duty MW2, Medal Of Honor, Final Fantasy XIII, Resistance 2, Just about any fighting game, Magna Carta 2, Gears of War ...
You probably don't want to include multiple genre's as an example of great games writing coupled with great graphics. I'm sure we can all make a list of pretty games that have awful writing...so that little list you started is resting on a weak point.
Also...Mass Effect has good writing? lol. Guess people like Syfy Channel stories.
