aha just as I thought.
MS seems to have issues on day one and it requires a day one update.
PS4 fanboys raise hell on n4g.
Sony seems to have issues on day one and it requires a day one update.
Ps4 fanboys give Sony a free pass while attacking users that point this out.
@ Kayant, first you say the update for DLNA support for ps4 "probably will make it in anyways."
Then you say "DLNA support will definite...
Hasn't it been confirmed that you need a mandatory update for the ps4 on day one to access dvd and bluray playback and a host of other features, such as multiplayer?
How did you forget about that?
Also, mp3 playback is currently not available on ps4.
No official word on a second update for that either. Only rumours so far, no official word from Sony.
Please correct me if I am wrong on that :)
Sony Ps4 PR doesn't need t...
Dat scared ps4 fanboy
Yeah. weird huh.
Did CBOAT actually apologise for getting this wrong?
Or is he busy concocting another false rumour?
@ nuke
agreed.
I am getting the xbo. Purely and simply because it does so much more. Of course, it has the games as well.
At the end of the day both ps4 and xbo will have great games. However the user implementation and all round entertainment solution on xbo wins it for me.
No brainer, really.
Ok That was cool. Smooth, fast, intuitive and useful.
Jesus Christ what an asinine response.
All the people above have made valid points and then you come in here and and bring it down to the average PS4 fanboy discourse?
Shame on you. You got called out and now you cry like a baby.
No you misunderstood.
Again. The piece was not meant to be a ringing endorsement. It was a sarcastic and rhetorical response to the hate articles.
I'll say it once more just in case.
It was never meant to be an endorsement, but rather a clever dialogue aimed at the hate articles.
Hopefully that clears up the context and you can move on.
I called it

The truth, as usual, is buried in the article:
"“We appreciate Bloomberg’s foray into fiction and look forward to future episodes,” said Frank Shaw, a spokesman for Microsoft.
"...the 49-year-old executive (Elop) hasn’t finalized or publicly discussed his analysis of the business.
...
lol
can we really trust the word of a 'gamestop manager' who refers to his retail product derogatively as 'xbone'.
If I were the chain manager, I would sack this guy, just as I would if he referred to the PS4 as PSBore or PS3.5
It's amazing what passes for news on n4g.
"“We appreciate Bloomberg’s foray into fiction and look forward to future episodes,” said Frank Shaw, a spokesman for Microsoft.
"...the 49-year-old executive (Elop) hasn’t finalized or publicly discussed his analysis of the business.
Weird how this story got submitted as news, when it is in fact a rumour from yet another anonymous unconfirmed source.
What a shame that Sony fanboys will be quoting this rumour as fact in future discuss...
@ darkride66
I don't think it was meant as an endorsement of the game.
It was a rhetorical statement aimed at all the hate articles that surfaced recently.
But I think you already knew that.
I hope they keep the kinect as part of the package.
Kinect will be the thing that will make the xbo different and more fun than than the same old games plus some more pixels.
No, I don't think I heard digital foundry mention contrast and sharpness.
I looked at Comparisons of a midrange PC with the ps4 and the ps4 was approaching the midlevel PC. That is all.
Dat selective reading.
Dat fanboy trait.
And now we are getting bogged down because you are getting off point. My point was that we should give it some time rather than declare a flawless victory after some screenshots were compared on prerelease cod...
My counter to your comment is that I observed the screenshots of the games you are talking about and some of the ones on ps4 looked washed out and dull, while the supposedly inferior xbo screens running at 'HALF the resolution' look crisp and clear with better textures albeit with some more alialising.
I implore you to find this repeated in the previous gen.
You won't find it. Not even close.
Having said that, there is no doubt th...
nah you guys are missing the point.
The ps3 had teh cell.
The xbo has teh cloud.
The cell was an amazing piece of tech with difficulties in implementation.
Ditto the cloud.
In the end the cell came through. Witness TLOU on ps3 after seven years on the market, finally amazed us all.
Why can't that also apply to the cloud?
Seven years is a long time. Just imagine.
(This requires uneq...
you know, just for now, I kind of agree with you a teensy bit.
720p for the next gen is a bit disappointing. I am expecting more than 720p for the xbo.
However, this new gen hasn't even started yet.
If the xbo hasn't shown us more than 720p in, say, a year's time then your comment is justified.
But for now your comment is just
Dat trolling.
so a couple of times in its lifetime.
How long did it stay down each time? A day? Two days?
so four days out of eight years XBL was down.
so 4/(8*365)= 0.0013
This means that the failure rate of xbl in eight years has been one tenth of one percent.
None too shabby!
Even if we multiply the failure rate of xbl by a factor of FOUR, we still get a relatively acceptable rate of failure over time of one half of one ...
It's funny how the start of the ps3 very much mirrors the start of the xbo? No?
Cboat was just an attention whore.
Best not to feed him anymore.
