Man I wish I got into TES before Skyrim.
(just went and watched original Morrowind gameplay)
I would've loved that game in it's time, as well as Oblivion.
Quite honestly I never even gave them a chance because of the 'meh' reponses I would get from GameStore employees.
I used to always be go in and ask them to recommend a great RPG,(around KOTOR's time) and when I mentioned TES people would always tells me...
viewing countless meaningless comparisons; and starting internet-wars over them...
Then once a game is determined to be superior on a particular console......

It sure seemed to matter when the differences were minimal, yet... this.
Neither of those people sound like protagonist.
Both sound like wacky side-characters you'll meet.
If anything I hope SR has R* make GTAV that much more serious, rather than 'over-the-top'.
Only way GTAV will be like SR (compared to IV) is it will have more customization, but that really from San Andreas.
Honestly I bet you could do the same for me. I can't help but be outspoken about how much I dislike the direction SR has taken.
I simply don't like the "over-the-top" style.
I've got to admit I strangely enjoy sitting down infront on my fire, in my house, and reading a book (in Skyrim).
But I don't see how anyone would want to read these semi-well written short stories else where.
you might take notice if someone did put something in their pocket, and even go as far as approach them about it.
but your not 'entitled' to harm them unless their heading towards, or out the store.
It is like that in Canada, at least.
You can run up to the Milk aisle, start drinking out of a carton.... as long as you pay for it on your way out.

I had never played any ElderScrolls before, in fact I tried to play Oblivion (long after the release of Fallout3) and didn't get into it.
I suggest playing Fallout3 (it's better than New Vegas) and if you like that type of open-world game..
You'll fall in love with Skyrim.
Also, some people feel ElderScroll games are continuations (sequels)... their plots aren't connected really.
leveling in GTAIV is punishing, as if they don't want to do attempt it.
Once I got to Lvl5 and found out that I had to double all the XP I had already earned, (Which took quite a bit of time of itself)

I hope they don't keep making minimum-spec consoles (without HDD)
The 4GB-Slim is the worst. Because people who buy looking for minimum figure that will due.
But 4GB console don't support Halo:Reach's Co-op or BF3 HD-texture install.
And this forces developers to focus on optimizing the minimum to run, rather than optimizing what the best (large-HDD) can do.
well they did have the Arcade, Normal, and Elite consoles this gen. (and later the Slim)
How does hours played relate to game quality?
Sure, if you play it enough, you get your money's worth, cost-wise.
But it doesn't say anything about the quality of the game.
If Cost/time was all that counts, then playing a Indie ($3) title for a few hours would be 300% better than any retail game at $60.
very true. Sometime I don't want to progress, because I'm either not sitting down to play for that long, or I'm too tired.
And usually this would mean I go play another title (something mindless)
But not with Skyrim, if I'm too tired to care about story or side-missions, I resort to mere wandering, sometime places I've already been. And it's an absolute blast!!
It's about 1 McDonalds meal every two months.
It's free because those who don't pay for Gold membership still have access to the update!
