We don't know anything about the power yet, so wait until we get some more information in January. You don't have to use it outside of its dock if you just want a regular console, you know. Get it with the pro controller and depending on it's power/support it could be a great home console if you don't want to use the portable aspect.

Edit: I just noticed your comment was from 4 days ago, I need some sleep, lol.

@Number_9

That link also details the only statement someone affiliated with Sony made about sales predictions. Not once has Sony stated the PSVR would ship millions.

People who thought this thing was going to sell millions in that timeframe are as delusional as the people who say the PSVR isn't a succes.

Btw, if you really want to quote articles, put something between the quotes that was actually written in the article.

“We know from the data we have from pre-orders that the interest we have is significant,” Ryan said during a TV interview, further saying that PlayStation VR sales will be in the “many hundreds of thousands” as the headset rolls out. “We think to be able to offer PlayStation VR… [at $399 dollars] it’s extremely affordable and we think the takeup is goi...

@moldybread

That's probably because this article doesn't mention it whatsoever. Why are you so insecure? Xbox will do great this holiday season.

Edit: Come on man, it mentions a deal on the S that was already there for Black Friday when these PS4 deals are new (hence the word "launches" in the title).

And the bundle mentioned in the article wasn't the one you linked, so my wording was correct.

I guess you don't own a PlayStation console or even handheld, as any system released by Sony has had great games. Sure, Nintendo has fun quality games. But Sony has some too. Why do you think Naughty Dog gets all these goty awards? Is it because their games suck?

Nice generalization, take off your Nintendo glasses and accept other manuracturers have some great games as well (pc and Microsoft too). Idiot.

PS1 and PS2 had a great number of games at launch, if you consider the US/EU launch an even better one, as the console was out months before in Japan and more games were made to launch with the consoles in other territories. I'm thinking about games like Ridge Racer, TimeSplitters, Tekken Tag Tournament, SSX, Armored Core 2, Dynasty Warriors 2, Madden, Midnight Club: Street Racing, Street Fighter... all there at the US launch of the greatest console ever made (PS2). How is that not a kill...

Just as with the release of Pokémon Go on iOS, the sales numbers of pokémon games on their handhelds went up. They are going to try and do the same thing with Mario to push some Switch consoles when the console Mario game releases. They're not going to bring Mario to another console anytime soon, if anything, it's to push their own consoles they're bringing it to mobile.

Dear admin, you just made my day.

"Update:

Admin note: Title and description updated because it seems GamingBolt can only create titles that elicit fanboy wars and descriptions that put their own thoughts into journalism rather than reporting honestly on what is being discussed."

You do know almost all in-house EA games run on Frostbite now, right? So that includes their sportgames. I agree it'll probably be FIFA though.

horror games, all kind of sims and shooters. Other genres can be hits too I suppose but it all depends on how devs tackle the VR implementation, while these types of games are natural transitions to VR. Just look at what games are popular on the Vive and Oculus Rift.

I have only one problem with this opinion piece, and that's the fact it's calling Sony out for not being innovative while they are the only console manufacturer that took the time to invest in VR and making it affordable and accessible to a large userbase. What innovation has MS brought? You say the Scorpio is innovative, but not more than PS4 Pro. If one is, they both are. They are just an upgrade, one more powerful than the other, but still, nothing too special.

No we shouldn't have had this power 3 years ago. The point about consoles is accessibility, and pricing is one of the most important factors to get consoles moving. They waited until they could price this thing competitively before making it a reality.

How do you know more people are playing Halo 3 than Uncharted 4 right now? You must not have counted
every player and sp gamers. (See how this argument works?)

But the question of this opinion piece stands "Does Sony need backwards compatibility to compete with the Xbox?"
And it doesn't. Also, you guys didn't fight for it, all you did was make a list of most requested features and this one
came on top. And Microsoft listened b...

Wow, 90k new players on a userbase of anywhere between 20 and 30 million? That's a LOT.

Does Sony needs BC to compete? Nope. How long has BC been available on Xbox One? And they outsold Sony in it's most popular regions (not worldwide) how many months since then? So it doesn't need it to compete.

Would I like BC on PS4? Yes, absolutely, but that wasn't the question. I like how my Xbox One gets 4 games every month, as I didn't have a 3...

it's $50 more if you take the 1TB version of the new PS4/Xbox One S, $100 more if you compare the 500GB versions to the 1TB PS4 Pro.

How is it deceiving? I tell you what I did and why. The guy(dark10x) is a writer of Digital Foundry and had hands-on time with the PS4 Pro. He says you'd have to game on a monitor to really see the difference between checkerboard rendering vs native 4K, he's tried it himself.

I have to ask, what do you think about all the articles of Phil Spencer's interviews? Or Andrew House? All they do is "just quote" whatever they say. If a source has proven inside...

I edited my comment a little because I couldn't find an article on digital foundry, I could however find a comment on neogaf, and it was a guy from digital foundry who said it.

Ofcourse Checkerboard rendering will not look as good as native 4k, but I read somewhere the difference between 1800p checkerboard rendered vs native 4K is less noticable than 900p vs full HD, and even that difference wasn't that big. And I believe some guy from digital foundry actually said that.

that's because it comes with the game AND the pro controller, so it still would be the best value for your money.
I'm hoping this rumor is true, but I don't know, I expected it to be $349 or $399. This price would be great and make
me consider getting it at launch when I originally wanted to wait it out a little.

@PizzaSteve

Don't be that guy as in that guy that sees the article and complains about something else entirely. Why start about gameplay or story when the title and article don't talk about anything like that? The title talks about HDR and PS4 Pro support, which includes native 4K, so why bring in the story and gameplay? Which both are great by the way. You don't have to praise the "almighty 4K power", but you don't have to go off-topic and talk ab...
