It's very true Wii does not have a solid line up for 2008. However do you guys remember a few months back? An article stated everyone (well at least a lot of big companies, capcom, square, thq etc) is shifting their focus on the Wii. So there is a lot of potential for good Wii games.
Personally I find that stupid since X360 and PS3 owners are the ones who buys a bunch of games. I think X360 users owns on an average 20 games (correct me if im wrong)? If Wii users owns on an aver...

oh but they just might have a tiny little chance.. if their first stand-alone player is 179 british pounds that would mean (most likely) that in the US it will be around 179$ or less. Which is almost half the price of the cheapest "STAND-ALONE" hd dvd player (300$ afaik it was).

there are a few reasons.
HD DVD supports online (I dunno why, but it opens up possibilities)
HD DVD is REGION FREE (BIG PLUSS)
HD DVD can be backwards compatible with dvds (by burning dvd on one side and hd dvd on the other)
HD DVD does not has as much DRM
thus HD DVD is also cheaper to produce (not that it matters cause we haven't noticed it yet)
HD DVD players are cheaper
BD got java and more space and faster speeds (as of now...

I actually agree with the article with the exception of Mass Effect. I don't think it's that big. As from my PS3 ("Ho" if you would like) side I think both UT3 and Uncharted has a fairly high potential. Well at least UT3 does. Uncharted is more like hope (though it does look great).
