That's not saying much, given how lacklustre this generation has been so far
Nah
Nah.
The problem now is that with the rise of the likes of Sweet Baby Inc, the industry is trying to tell us what we should like, and should spend our money on. They're not interested in what gamers actually want, just what THEY think we want.
In a lot of ways, yes. As the industry has become more corporate the fun has largely gone. Don't get me wrong, there's some fantastic games that could have only been dreamt about a couple of decades about, but generally developers play it safe now, not wanting to take risks. The sense of wonder and discovery has gone, it no longer feels dynamic like it used to, and that's not just nostalgia.
Then you have Sweet Baby and the likes, that want to literally control...
No there isn't, and we don't need to justify it. The only ones that would have an issue with this are Sweet Baby and all the ESG narrative pushers.
No it's not. It's been this way for a long time. Lara Croft anyone?
The only thing that Stellar Blade is challenging is the parasitic likes of Sweet Baby Inc, that think they can tell us how we want our games to be.
Really, it shouldn't be such a big deal that Shift Up decided to use a real model in their game.
Let's not try to make us believe that IGN represents the majority of gamers, because it doesn't. It's ...
It always takes me back to Christmas 1997, I got it as a gift and I was blown away when I played it. I couldn't believe games could look that good. The combination of pre rendered backgrounds and FMV really made it stand out. It definitely still has a certain charm that modern games can't replicate.
I can't imagine people will still be talking about Remake and Rebirth in 27 years.
I don't care whose uses it was, it was a very good one.
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
Finished infinite Wealth so have finally started Rebirth. Enjoying it so far, however I'm still not sold on the combat. I still prefer turn based battles if I'm honest. The story, music and overall atmosphere is spot on though.
Yeah but come on be honest with yourself. You won't actually be buying it anyway will you? You'll just rent it from GP.
No it's not, but being digital only definitely is.
Nobody takes Pachter seriously, right?
Yup you won't be alone. I'll never throw my money at live service games, no matter how well they review.
If this is the future, then I want no part in it.
I gaas-ped at how bad that was.
I'll get my coat and see you at the exit.
HD2 being what it is, is the reason I didn't buy it, and won't buy it. Any game - no matter how good it's supposed to be - that is live service is an instant deal breaker for me.
Have we never had realism, visuals and art in games before?
How exactly will this be a 'unique experience', and why do you always have to sound like a salesman?
