Although there is a trade off.
1. Do you want any HDD (Sony route) -> easier to hack and do things with it?
2. Do you want a propriatary HDD (MS route) -> MS seem to have at least some sort of control over it?
exactly, that is how it is this generation. People prefered graphic over smoother game play (just look at @shackdaddy836 for example LOL....)
Good thing though, it only happen on N4G, cause people still buy COD games irrespective of all the bashing on n4g.

well all the traditional feel of FF went to Mistwalker already, while SE trying to westernize their games. If u want traditional JRPG, go with Mistwalker (especially Lost Odyssey, it has world map, airship, and really great story, superb written story for character development, and great refreshing and wise characters, unlike the usual teenager crap that don't know what they are doing).

look interesting. It seem to be harder than pressing the right button for fighting games with the control (from the vid, they didn't follow the move properly -> like it says u punch forward, but the guy keep doing upper cut, the other guy suppose to do the uppercut motion, but he just left his hands up without going through the motion -> when he did, it works). The movement needs more work i guess, but look interesting nonetheless.

I do think this gen has lots of great games, but i think the problem is that it is too saturated -> lack of distinctions.
Back then, games seem better/more exciting because they are still fresh, new concept being built, etc....people like it because they haven't not seen it before (like if you live in San Francisco, you hated the golden gate bridge, but tourist loved it). There were a lot of distinctions between consoles and it makes them feel unique.

Didn't u read, fallout didn't have to pay a dime for RROD issue. It was a big issues, True, but MS did spend billions of $ to fix it for free for 3 years (including that error code E....something). At least they redeemed themselves by compensating adequatedly for people's lost.

I don't think new generation would like JRPG (well just based on the current trend) as much. There are still some old times gamers (me for example) buying them for nostalgic reasions (some traditional JRPG are actually really good like Lost Odyssey), but most just kinda moved on or something.

Well simply put, because it is LEGAL. Developers can't do much about it. The way i see it, we are just pushing toward more strictly online gaming (no more disc medium).
