Alan Wake is from 3rd party developer as well, not 1st. I think he might just mean exclusives in general.
I actually agree with you guys on the story part. The worst one was probably 2, but they did improve it a little bit for gears 3. However i think the bread and butter of gears series is in its gameplay. I think it just has the best coop and MP modes this gen (just my opinion).

wow u just completely remove a lot of games on x360, especially the RPG section, why?
Go to gamefaqs/metacritic for example and get the list and compare them. See how many games are available for each system. "a few more games" or "many more exclusives" seem like u are hiding something.

I think JRPG isn't your thing then. Did you even spend time to read since they don't use CGI to tell story? Kaim is one of my top favorite character in JRPG thanks to all those little stories. No CGI in FF can ever get you more acquainted with your character as much as reading those dream sequences in Lost Odyssey. Most of the main characters aren't teenager either and they are quite normal people like u and me, which is quite refreshing. Everything else is pretty standard JR...

well game like RDR, GTA, Assassin Creed, Fallout, Skyrim aren't short game if at all, and they ran fine on 1 DVD, given they don't have 1080p CGI though. FF13-2 seem to have much more contents and more "open" than FF13 from what we have seen so far.

Let thinks about it this way:
You can push as much as the hardware can handle, and with the console, it is fixed. It isn't PC where u can update. So what do you have left? Creativity and cleverness.
Example:
Can both consoles do MSAA with HDR lighting simultaneously well? Nope, bottle neck for both of them. So what do they do: Using alternate methods like MLAA/FXAA/Deffered lighting etc... which aren't as taxing on the har...

1. The locking helps reduce useless grinding. Something that i actually don't like about JRPG is grinding (if you don't grind, some boss may seem impossible therefore relying less on your tactic). People tend to abuse grinding to a point where there is no challenge left in the game. Given, you don't have to grind to that point. Beside that i don't see anything difference about them.

1. Grid system is similar, it just look prettier in f13.
2. Combat is changed to a much faster pace, and if you actually spend time, it is not bad at all. Paradigm shift is actually pretty interesting and quite tactical. They put a new twist on turn base, and some may not like it; unfamiliar and learning curve perhaps? But hey maybe you prefer the old turn base system (plenty of time to think), which i also miss dearly, but for nostalgic r...
