exactly, they are still selling every console at a significant loss. they are much closer to bringing in a profit than they were this time last year though. so i will bet on a price cut either this coming spring or next fall.
im personally not a Street Fighter or Tekken fan myself. im more of a Guilty Gear and Soul Calibur guy. i am really loving BlazBlue right now.
Street Fighter is one of the oldest fighting game series, as well as the most successful and most respected game of that genre and its nice to see devs of that genre pay homage to that.
Kinda like when guys doing anime pay homage to the Dragon Ball series and Gundam series. im not really a big fan of the two personally (except...
that is by far one of the dumbest articles i ever read
i cant believe i just wasted 2 minutes of my life reading that article. 2 minutes that i can never have back
well what's one site. if one goes down another will come. Pirating will NEVER stop. so people like me who enjoy downloading anime, music, and japanese games (that didnt come here) dont have anything to worry about.
in reality, the only way pirating would ever stop is if the internet ceased to exist
i wouldnt say its as much of a problem, as it is mainly NIS catering to its niche audience. the gamers that enjoy that style of play.
just like SquareEnix caters to the "mainstream" audience that would enjoy a more simplistic, straight run through a story in a game
those are some very true points man
i mean with games that are competitively driven, i understand. Like FPS, fighting, and sports titles i can understand having a plethora of them. in RPGs sure, add them in to reward hard work such as max lvling, getting ultimate/secret weapons, finding secret party members, beating secret bosses, etc.
in visual novel style gaming they really have no place unless they are put in as a reward for each ending you complete.
point being, trophies and achievements should onl...
i didnt have those problems at all
i caught on to the battle system easily and kicked @ss
also JRPGS are generally pretty much about the grinding
and about the script, nobody should ever buy a crossover game looking for the most epic story. crossover RPGs are mainly ment for people who are familiar with the characters in the game to enjoy the assorted mash up.
this is what i like about talking with real JRPG fans over console war fanboys, mature discussion :)
thanks Baka-akaB
i agree with what you said
but just to clear things up, i know that Cross Edge has its flaws and i never claimed it to be a great game or a 10/10. i was more or less point out the fact that its not as bad as people or reviewers say (ie: IGN giving it a 3/10)
about mentioning Super Robot Taisen, i was mainly comparing in the f...
since when does a good game = good graphics
i find it refreshing as a old school gamer to see sprites still being done.
the battle system is alot like namcoXcapcom in japan which are lots of fun but what they did with this one for the sake of being unique was make it a crossbreed which i found very nice. but it all in taste.
im sure we can agree to disagree, since i take NIS and atlus gamers to be the few real gamers left in the world
i cant wait for this game to come :)
about cross edge, it is a CROSSOVER RPG, meaning it will generally only mean something to people who are familiar with the characters. that is pretty much what sells the crossovers, character and game familiarity (super robot taisen, namcoXcapcom, etc). if you gont know the games or the characters, chances are you wont like it. Plus american reviewers really only dish hate out to JRPGs anyway so you cant listen to them.
as the uber JRPG fan i am (owns 200+ and counting)
i have to say i completely agree with Ultimolu.
regardless of what the 360 or the ps3 is doing
it is a fact that "last gen console" the PS2
is kicking this current "next gen console"
360 and PS3's @ss. in RPGs and hardware sales
that is indeed a great game, and having the Skies of Arcadia characters in there makes it even greater.
of course my opinion may not mean much because i also like Cross Edge and many people seem to just listen to the reviewers on that one.
hell let them make money off lazy gamers. guilty gear/blazblue is pretty niche though. soooooo, i dont see people buying this game not intending to play the sh!t out of it.
i cant wait for it myself
i own both consoles and j-rpgs is really all i play, all the way back to the 16-bit era.
at this moment there are more j-rpgs on the 360, that will change by march of next year (with the big video game releasing seasons, fall and spring).
soooo if your buying for the j-rpgs, just grab a 360-arcade to hold you over till christmas, and grab you a ps3 then. (but still keep your 360 incase some nice exclusives still hit)
the PSP will last for quite some time as long as development keeps up like it has this year.
over the past couple of years the PSP has really been a sleeper over here.
its good to see production back up for 2009
the XMB is efficient and does its job, i fail to see the problem here.
it keeps things simple and i like that.
if you want to add something cool get a changing background. my background cycles through about 40 different bleach (the anime) backgrounds on its own. its actually quite nice.
my and my friends have these labels in sort of a different manner. because we clearly have different types of gamers now.
The media uses the term casual, and we use the term mainstream (there is a difference). thus we have 2 classes of gamers.
mainstream gamers (people who follow the reviewer's, the media's, and the general public's word like sheep, another words, people commonly referred to as a "tool". also the fanboys)
core gamers (those who...
cant we just let them do what the hell they want to do in gaming. if i or anyone else plays a game with rape in it, having played that game will not affect any other person in society. America cant just let them live because we a self-righteous world police. we are america, we are sovereign, and our standards are the only true and correct standards
The japanese havent had freedom to do anything but be America's b***ch since we bombed them killing thousands upon thousands of innoc...
not exactly, PS3s are still selling at a loss
