I think that attaching it to the franchise is going to make more bad than good. A standalone game without all the AC fanfare would look more fresh.
There are bad games, games with bad controls, graphics, camera, mechanics... Those are easily avoidable if you get a bit of info about them in most cases.
Then there are terrible games that fool you play them until the end just to realize what a terrible waste of time they were and that you kept playing just to get to the fun part (that never arrived)
And then there are goddamn awful games that rip your dreams, hopes and very soul apart, and Mass Effect 3 is ...

Nor really, last AC I played was Brotherhood and already felt like a blatant milking game. The next ones were even worse as far as I heard and this Assassins of the Caribbean throws away the little pride the series had.
This franchise is in a downward spiral.

I think the difference between Ps4 and Durango games might be something like we see today between consoles an mid range PCs. More or less the same game but with better textures and performance.
This is all about third party games, Sony's first pary would really use all that extra juice.
