It's BEEN a slippery slope though. One that we've very well slipped down a long time ago. Ever since Farmville, horse armor and the like. Heck there were games before that that had them. And unfortunately people have been okay with that practice this generation. People have been dealing with, accustomed to or had no problem with microtransactions for quite a while now I'm afraid. It's just if and when they decide to get outraged or mention it that changes or is the problem.

Another solid write up to what sounds like (another) GOTY contender. Maybe even GOTG for many like Super Mario Galaxy waa for many. Was trying to at least wait a bit, but f it I am buying day 1 it seems.
You are free to do what you want, but the difference is some people actually have been able to play Mario as it's been shown round the country and has had multiple play sessions for folks out there to go Hands-On with the game. Not nearly the same scenario is what you would be doing with God of War since to my knowledge no one has really been able to play it. Whatever floats your boat and makes you feel better though.
Just a way to try and steal some of Nintendo's limelight and try to interject one of their beloved product into a conversation me thinks. It is never the other way around unless it it to crap on it or to piggyback and try to go after MS. Pretty freaking pathetic.

Uh....GTA V. Sold over 80 million.
Uhhh...I believe that that they they were talking about exclusives lol. Unless you are referrimg to the PUBG guy. Im whixh cade yeah, ...
Nothing wrong with a game not clicking with you. I have never been into gta and never saw the appeal. And I have a buddy that will tell anyone that will listen that horizon zero dawn was "one of THE most boring and overrated piece of shit games" that he ever played. And one that he only completed to get the trophies. I know that some will disagree with both of our opinions, but that just goes to shiw that there's always truly different strokes for many a different folk .
They'd better F'ing not after the waiting and elation and felation of crash bandicoot and the optimism for Super Lucky's Tales. Not to mention rhe forgiveness and even some acceptance for knack2 *shudders*. Not saying that you can't anticipate or even like those games (well, not knack2), but don't try to railroad my man Mario.
Come on man, let's stay on topic. This is about Mario Odyssey not console wars. I mean like you said 2 GOTY contenders in 1 year. Not to mention not even it's FIRST full year. So if that is the bar that we're measuring rhr 6tflopls againsr, why not mention how Nintendi has spanked ALL these console makers (and even devs) asses while at it? As it goes, NOBODY has been able to do or claim that I believe in the ENTIRE HISTORY of this industry!
Wow, that is actually pretty darn pathetic. I probably would have been hesitant to believe you if there wasn't a reply right underneath confirming it lol.
Not really, it happens all the time. You CLEARLY must be new to this and/or wasn't around when games like horizon was getting goid reviews and certain gamers were instantly declaring it GOTY, asking Zelda who and instantly comparing it to Zelda. Claiming that it was better even before either had released and certainly before they got a chance ro even touch Zelda.
Were you tampering excitement then? Or are you just one of those folks that will conveniently become mute ...
Yeah, I am talking more about the gameplay surprises or something that I may see that could tarnish or even ruin my playthrough. I hate when I see something like a gameplay element used maybe to get pass an area exposed so I can't technically do it on ny own.
Besides, while a story in a game is cool and all, I don't play them for story. I have books and movies for thar. Stories in games are usually some of the most predictable, unoriginal and cliche B-movie level st...
Yeah, games that I highly anticipate like this I'll definitely make sure to go full media blackout. I don't want to make a mistake and see anything or have some douchebag with nothing better to do trying to ruin it
I think that you're wrong and maybe need to speak for yourself. Most Gamers here seem very content to be console gamers. The ONLY time that the PC gets showered with this much love is when it comes to Microsoft's consoles. Then suddenly everyone is an advocate for PC gaming and have super rigs lying around like so many matchsticks. Even though most of their comments and behavior prove very much otherwise. I think gamers with no extreme bias (as having a normal bit isn't exactly...
I must say, I wasn't really feeling this thing at first, but I am hella interested the more and more devs speak and I see on it. And also for what I've really been seeing. Microsoft might actually get me to buy one of their boxes this time out. Devs certainly seem happy, what I've seen of it looks great, and the backwards compatibility means I can go back and get a lot of games that I've missed out on. Begrudgingly or not, I have to admit it's impressive. Maybe there's...
Very impressive indeed. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going strong. They do have some good things coming down the pipeline though, so we'll see. Some are just going to try to spin it as a negative no matter which way you slice it though dude
Not according to guys who made games like Oceanhorn, Bomberman and Has Been Heroes and other games. Just because it's not always a huge Triple A game selling doesn't mean that 3rd parties aren't getting their money. None of which have Mario on the name by the way. So, like Neonridr said, nice try kid.
Many fail to realize that when they try with their ridiculous, childish and obvious efforts to downplay anything MS does. Nevet realizing how stupid they end up looking and sounding. They don't care how they get the money. I mean, would you? If you decided to put a $100 in my hand or leave it on m6 coffee table, do you think that I would give a damn how I got that $100.
Back to the matter at hand, that is pretty impressive. Especially given that Gears4 wasn't a slou...
I used all of them. I just don't harp on or give them as much crap being the early pioneers. Of course the one button Atari controller was technically one of the worst. However, games were much simpler back then. And they worked fairly well within the confines of the technology in the games being put out back in those days. Especially since most were just side to side or up up down left right and shoot. Going after a one button Atari controller isn't really put much thought into it in...
