First, I think those numbers are a little skewed because how are used games the biggest portion 50% of the time? When new games released are new 100% of the time? See how that doesn't work there.
We're talking games that come out and sell 2 to 5 million copies, I don't think half of the people (0.5 and 2.5 respectively for the example) are trading those games in and then it selling up to half of the initial sell through numbers.

I don't have to buy two versions of the PS1 classics to play them on my PS3 and PSP.

Pre-owned game sales don't put a dent in game sales at all. Do you know why? If somebody is buying used games they werent going to pay full price for the game anyway AND the developers make money off the Sell-in, not sell through.
