This is from August. Don't know how many people followed the blog but Super was good at uncovering trademark filings, domain registrations, resume postings, job positions, etc. Very good source of rumors and initial discoveries.

steam is not.

i love upgrading too. whether, btw; might increase resume views.

@jy f steam though. i hate it and wish that DRM cancer would die.

I would rather use disc verification or just an activation key for DRM, not a client that must be installed and running and requires internet access.

Steam's prices aren't impossibly low. They just show that games are massively marked up. I think really good games should sell at least 10% of the user base of a platform. Steam has 30+ million active accounts. That is 3 million people sold on a good game of a given type. Starcraft, for example. This means that a game with a $30 million dollar budget could sell for $15 a copy and still bring in $15 million in profit. Look at Minecraft. $10 dollars a copy. No DRM. The dude basi...

yes, i have used it.

i didn't know you could turn off auto update. it is on by default, so until you can kill it, your games will patch. i just tried to turn it off, navigating steam's menus to find the option to turn it off could be easier. i'll give you that it can be turned off and i was wrong, but Steam's UI is atrocious and i definitely know i'm not alone in thinking that. many people besides myself do not know you have a choice about turning auto up...

steam is not as great of a platform as many people make it out to be.

live has better community features but no dedicated servers. the new marketplace will offer clientless as well as client based downloads. the client will do auto updates. the client is not necessary.

d2d and gog offer clientless download and play, which in my opinion will always beat client based drm.

impulse sucks just like steam, if not worse. very buggy, like stardock g...

1) great, you chose apple
2) even if you hate pc gaming, don't you think others who do like it should have the chance and the choice to enjoy it? you do like choice, right?
3) Apple's control extends to all of its platforms and is ridiculously oppressive. They dictate what apps can be run on ANY of their platforms, what software MUST be used to program said apps as well as what is available through their marketplace whereas MS is hands off on the PC and only control...

I have a zune hd and while i agree being able to drag and drop music off/onto the device using just the explorer would be an EXCELLENT feature, using the zune software is simple and actually very pleasant. It does not wipe out non-drm music. I don't have a zune pass and I still manage all of my cd rips using the zune software just fine.

As for zune pass, this is an excellent value service. Unlimited music choices that are DRM managed as well as 10 downloads a month t...

Ballmer should have canned Bach once the first box failed. Any other corporation would have fired the executive responsible for losing them billions of dollars on a single project. MS does the opposite and gives that executive power over a different project, which goes on to be a minor market success.

Ballmer had a responsibility to fire Bach and place E&D into someone else's much more capable hands, but he didn't. How he remained CEO after overseeing such ma...

I follow Austrian economics, I see how big business and government collaborate. I think you aren't getting my points.

My point is that BUSINESSES, without regard to government, have a financial obligation to their investors. They need to provide a return. Taking advantage of tax loopholes and breaks is EXPECTED because they need to make sure they turn as much profit as possible. If not, the business faces legal troubles in failing their fiduciary duty.

A company's fiduciary duty is to its shareholders and investors. This means the company needs to maximize returns while minimizing outlays. Taking advantage of legal loopholes is not cheating, period. A company that does not take advantage of tax breaks is going to have some angry investors to deal with.

CA is in trouble because the politicians didn't know how to budget within their means. They became addicted to the crack that is debt spending and now they try ...

It is called loopholing. America has THE highest corporate taxes in the world at 35%. What company WOULDN'T want to reduce their tax burden?

America is NOT in its present day crisis due to deregulation or tax evasion. That is BS that the government will feed you in order to keep the sheep in line. It is the current crisis because of 2 things, an inflationary debt based monetary policy and fractional reserve banking and lending. This will continue for as long as we a...

Money IS debt, that much is true. The Federal Reserve system is a positive feedback debt loop, that much is also true, I should know ;)
However, there IS a way to eliminate this chain from your ankle. Almost nobody knows about it because, well, the government wants to keep you in the system so they don't tell you or teach you about it.

I'd suggest doing some heavy research into the Uniform Commercial Code, particularly filing a UCC1. Discharge of debt. ...
