It will be interesting to see how this game will perform, Valhalla came out right in the middle of the lockdown so no doubt the sales were heavily boosted by that.
It honestly looks incredible, im so glad they kept the voice acting from the original as well.
Its not just a hero shooter though, thats kinda the point. Like i get there are similarities but mechanically its a very solid game that mashes the moba/hero shooter aspects very well.
Games are more then what they look like on the surface. Like Concord might seem very similar to Valorant but you strip the abilities from Concord you have a terrible shooter, do the same with Valorant you have CS one of the most popular games for the past decade with some of the best shooting mechanic...
Yeah there are deals running right now where you get this game even with an RTX4060.
Proper funding? The combat looks like its straight out of Elder Scrolls Online, a 15 years old mmo.
Hogwarts Legacy was the biggest game last year, and before then it was Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Elden Ring holding highest sales for 2022.
Similar thing happened with SaintsRow and look how that turned out. To be fair we are seeing this happen in other industries as well. This is what diversity hiring gets you, people that hate gaming and only ended up in the industry for the money.
You on that copium bro. The game just isnt anything special. People arent even saying anything bad about it, if anything it seems like most just couldnt care less and are too busy enjoying other games.
You really think they just casually spend 64 bil for nothing? This is what happens when you own a game that provides a bil in pure profits every year. Now everything else means very little by comparison so you either get funneled into helping with COD, ES, Fallout or you dont matter.
That is such a great comparison, especially when it comes to the combat. Like when you look at whats going on it may be action but it definitly is no God of War, it aint flashy combo based like Devil May Cry either. And it definitly isnt slow methodical like the Souls games it just looked very spammy and shallow by comparison to any of those great titles weve seen in recent years.
"requiring players to purchase a premium currency for custom content"
This is all you need to know.
Im just happy to see Marcus back. Dont even care if its a soft reboot imo the franchise needed something like this. Gears been irrelevant for a while now.
The remnants of it initially being a co-op multiplayer game are clearly still there. Im guessing thats why it had such a huge tonal shift. Not to mention the complete butchering of the lore with that veil jumper, which makes no sense.
It looks amazing, im so glad they kept the original dialogue and cutscenes. Only downside still no release date.
Oh i think they care alot about history, especially when it comes to rewriting it to fit their narrative.
How did people know? Developers claimed they had big plans for this title post launch and they havent done anything at all. There have been no major fixes or changes since, its literally been abandoned.
PS5 is is selling so well becouse Xbox is failing so hard. Every extra PS5 sold is basically 1 less Xbox user. General numbers show console space hasnt had any real growth in over 15 years.
Mobile/PC is where the real growth is happening right now. Perfect example is COD, to many console players thats the biggest game ever and nothing comes even close but in terms of revenue its in like 10th spot each year.
