Sony lost half there support base with the PS3, they went from 1st place (PS2) to 3rd place (PS3) while the 360 was the best HD console for most of last gen. If you want to claim the PS3 the winner of last gen then your a fool. 360 had the games and dominated in sales for most of the gen. Its when MS stop supporting the system is when PS caught up.

Its not overated if you have seen the picture quality it delivers. 4k will be a standard just like 1080p has become. 4k isn't far off from becoming a house hold standard. Only price.
I don't have to justify my purchase, my $100 extra goes towards a lot of other things including games like Titanfall. Keep trying to down the camera when sales prove that gamers will buy it and end up with it anyway. Its cheaper buying the XB1 with it included then buying the parts separately. If the tools make it more efficient to use, then you will be seeing more textures and shading because there finding ways to do them without using as much power. Software DOES make the hardware better, The hardware doesn't make the software better. Might want to research that. Iv been running an old 6970 AMD (2010)card for years but has had its software updates to keep the card up-to-date with the latest games. DX12 will make the XB1 better and being exclusive to Windows/Xbox you can bet your house, you will start seeing better quality games in the near future.
DX12 will make a huge difference in programming. A lot of people forget that DX11 was out in 2008. DX12 will help the PC and XB1 a lot with its games.
People buy consoles to play the games not to support a company. That's the problem with fanboys these days. Its not about the games anymore but about supporting. Do yourself a favour and play the games. I brought a Day One edition and I paid full prise for Forza 5, I couldn't care less if they give it away because my XB1 has been keeping me entertained for those 4 months.

It doesn't make sense, You fanboys claim and brag about the PS4 version being superior yet choose to ignore the PC version which can run at 4k? 4k is doing 1080p twice, which is better then 1080p or in Killzones term 1080p sub. Here's an example, everyone knows the XB1 has ESRAM which a lot of companies aren't using yet making it a bottleneck. DX12 is going to allow developers easier ways to access the ESRAM which is faster then GDDR5 Ram. PS4 doesn't have ESRAM so whatever OPENGL does isn't going to make bigger differences then what DX12 will do for XB1.
