Yeah, that 30fps 'weak CPU' reason doesn't seem to make sense on the upgraded systems. We have 60fps games at dynamic resolutions like Halo 5 on the current Xbox One; with more power there isn't a good technical reason for them keeping it locked 30 unless their physics engine is tied to the framerate.
Splatoon was worthy of doubt when we first saw it, and it turned into one of the big surprises of last gen. I'm keeping an open mind on this one, especially if the turn-based gameplay turns out to be anything-except-modern-Paper-M ario.

With the way tech and mobile GPUs are going, Sony would make the most traction by doing a PS4 Portable. It would effectively kill the Switch, and by 2019 the chips used in the base PS4 could probably be shrunken and efficient enough to get a couple hours of battery. Look at how tiny the PS4 Slim already is and that was 2013's tech shrunken in 2016.
I wonder if this fixed the battery life reader issue (i.e. "Low Battery" notification after 40 minutes, but the system played for a full 3 and a half hours before running out of battery).
I'm thinking if it did come to consumers it could show you what disc you have in the tray or even download percentage/status.
It's not a screen saver, it's capable of displaying system info, framerates, and acts as a mini-dev console so the developers can see data without having to go through the hassle of switching monitors just to see "metadata value X"

That doesn't make any sense. Nintendo is a platform holder, they should outshine the third parties, and the other first parties should put forth all they have as well.

The only gameplay referenced is the first hour that's available in the demo. It sounds like he just listed the complaints from IGN and picked the midpoint of their two scores.
That's working quite well for the PS4 and Xbox One
My backlog is full so this will be an on-sale purchase for me, but the demo felt great because of the little things - the intro, the communications in the computers, your secretary's password, your first encounter with a mimic.
