This demo blew me away. I love god of war but have not really had this one on my radar as I presumed it was gonna be a multiplayer focused game. Then I played this demo and holy crap; everything has been turned up to 11! Graphics, action, set pieces, violence, gameplay, art direction... Literally speechless
Interesting read, like a nostalgic trip back to my own college days... I also use to have the same habit of buying weed whenever I bought/rented video games cos it felt like it completed or complemented the experience, still do sometimes but I guess it's all about moderation. With that said, I'm still gonna be buying a fat sack the day gtav comes out and losing myself in a lack of responsibility for old times sake, just like I did with San Andreas in college.

Naysayers always dissed the art style/colour palette so guerrilla have responded with a bright, vibrant, colourful game that is technologically unlike anything console gamers have seen. PC gamers are going on about how it looks like high end pc games but seriously, who cares? That's a good thing, it's putting high end pc quality gaming in our living rooms, so what if the mega-rig elite have it in their parents basement alread...

Ah okay, haven't got that far yet, guessing its different then? My main complaint is the weird frozen-alien-everything-else-s till-moving death screen in campaign. It's really pissing me off!
While I think 'yeah fair enough, the consensus is that this game sucks' I am yet to dislike playing it, he'll lollipop chainsaw scores higher than this and I thought that game was damn near unplayable, and I'm genuinely having fun with this. Each to their own I guess

You'll notice my comment was in reply to somebody who said they were getting the game regardless so it's not like I'm randomly trying to brainwash people into trying out a game they have no interest in
I'm about 2 hours in and I avoided actually reading any of the reviews, I expected it to have glaring faults but so far I'm genuinely enjoying it. The shooting is clunky against human characters but feels fine against the aliens, all the guns you know and love are here, the aliens atmosphere is nailed, the games graphics are perfectly acceptable with nice lighting effects, the sound effects are obviously spot on...

I dunno man, I just watched bothe the ign live demo and the other gameplay demo and they seem to look the same, doesn't look like groundbreaking graphics but certainly looks quite clean and decent. I hope I enjoy this game, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt until I've played it through, optimism can make all the difference
