As a practicing lawyer, you should take a look at the contract that was signed between both parties before saying anyone should sue. No one promised it would be out for xbone in a year, it was implied. Contracts and stipulations are binding in the business world, and thus legal. Look at titanfail. Everyone implied it was going to be multiplat, but after a couple months, a deal was made for exclusivity. No one called for a lawsuit. Frivolous lawsuits are the bane of the justice system and ta...
Nintendo did this back in the day, sega has done it, Sony, and Microsoft. It's business. Gaming is not some sort of peace and love for all hippie commune. It's a business with companies trying to fight for your dollar. "It hurts all gamers". Lol. Gamers are a funny kind of stupid.
It's a better platform, if you have money to invest in it. And time. When I was younger, I used to like troubleshooting why my games didn't work. But nowadays I like to plop a game in, and play. To each their own.
I have never supported pay for online. When the 360 did it, I played only single player until I sold it. The ps3 had the best model. Free online, and perks for ps plus. Now with the ps4 jumping on the pay bandwagon, I will only play single player. What's funny is Microsoft has mega ads, and continues to make people pay. To a lesser extent, Sony does as well. These ads would pay for the service. But, Microsoft and the 360 guys set a precedence for this terrible practice years ago.
I never buy the expansions, unless its a game I really like, or it is a great single player experience. but, people do, and that makes this a viable business model. don't hate the company, hate the idiots that gobble this shit up. if it didn't make money, they wouldn't do it.
if you feel that strongly about it, don't buy sony stuff anymore. to be honest though, the entire industry is going this way, and, yeah, it sucks. I've been playing video games all my life since 1980, but can see if the digital future is a thing, I will not hesitate to stop gaming. I've got a great big backlog to catch up on anyways.
Really, there's only so much online multi-player shooters I can take. The game industry caters to the idiots that buy the same shit over and over, killing any originality or spontaneity that games used to or could have. There are indie and some larger studios that still take a risk, but it doesn't pay off the majority of the time. It's too bad the game industry is turning into an online shooter mmo moba fest.
This one has the campaign, which actually looks pretty cool, but the game play of the multi-player I watched, damn near put me to sleep. I enjoyed the first one, but I may have to wait and see for this one. I think it was enjoyable because I got it for 6 bucks.
